What days over the weekend are we thinking? Friday to Monday or Thursday to Sunday? Or even Wednesday to Sunday?
We'll tentatively say we can do the weekend of the 4th and 5th November, but it depends on what days it is either side. We'll need to be back to work on the Monday sadly.

It depends on what accomodation is available, but probably Thursday/Friday to Sunday if that works for most?

Make it a really long weekend, Wednesday to Tuesday? :)

BTW did anyone flag @donut ?

While I'd happily spend a month in the lakes, I'm guessing most would find that difficult? It'd be better just to do Saturday to Saturday?

Also, good point, where is @donut these days?

Sorry guys. I'll be in Florida until the 8th November so will have to struggle on without this meet! Good luck with it, looking forward to seeing the results :0)

:( Shame fella, you'll be missed!

I can pretty much do the whole weekend of the 4th. Would it be better if we set off late Friday/early Saturday and head back early Monday?

If people need lifts I can offer my car (Citroen C5 estate, so I have plenty of room)

Ideally, it'd be best to have a good three full days in the lakes, otherwise for anyone travelling a good distance, it's hardly worth the trip.

That weekend is fine with us. However, due to circumstances beyond our control, we can't fully commit to coming at the moment. Fingers crossed! :)

Fingers crossed indeed! Keep me posted :)

So are we settled on the 4th/5th?

Looking like it, aye. That work for you fella?

Works for me Woodsy, ideally travel up Fridayand back Monday, but we'll make it work whatever is decided.

Is this 4/5th for definite? Can I book this weekend off work and buy some train tickets?

Off topic...watched a motorcycle programme on tv where he tours the UK and abroad and one visit was Bibury in Oxfordshire...excellent photo opportunities if you like old houses\village etc (although because of tourists it would be like getting a better shot of say Tower bridge), but still interesting place to see and for a meet one day sometime.

Did Brian go off topic, God forbid. :)

Ok, so far in terms of interest, I've got:

Me, @nikki_s, @RaglanSurf, Shireen, @Mrs Snap, @Andysnap, @Carl Hall, Angi, @steveo_mcg, @Strappy, @ChrisR, +1(?), @EddyWelbz.

Who have I missed? @srichards? @medwaygreen? @excalibur2? @Mr Badger? @donut? Are you guys interested in coming?

For those that haven't replied already, please can you state your level of interest? Only then can I really start looking for a place.

@RaglanSurf, I'll do my level best to get somewhere for that weekend, but I need everyones intentions to confirm numbers.

I might pop up for a day but not to stay. I don't like the feline recrimination.

I'm a definite! My weekend starts the Friday morning and doesn't finish until the Monday night.

As for accomodation, so long as there is a chance for a shower & beer i'm not fussed!

Sorry @Woodsy, I struggle to get much time off for holidays so a long-weekend in the Lakes in November would be a bit too much of a gamble for me in the time v weather v best bang for buck stakes. Hope you all have a good time and I'll look forward to following the update photos. (y)

I should be able to turn up :)

4th/5th November suits me.

Morning all,

So a little bit of bad news on my part I'm afraid. I've been informed of a large event in November that I have to attend as it's directly associated with my funding. This has hugely stepped up my deadlines and so I wont be able to come on the lakes trip. Is there someone willing to take over the organising of this trip? I'm happy to give pointers and advice from organising the Cornwall trip if required. Really sorry about this guys :(

Thats just not right, cant we reschedule? That's the Lakes trip not your event obvs :D

I'm ok with it being pushed back until the new year, although flights to Iceland are rather cheap around that time...and that's a good time for long dark nights and Light shows...

If anyone is up for organising the weekend I'd still be up for it aswell
