Anyone else waiting for Android 5.0? My Nexus is ready!

Unless of course it is only being rolled out to WiFi only Nexus 7 and 10 devices as rumoured? No 5.0 factory images for those devices yet though.... Will check later :)

Definitely looking forward to it as have a nexus 5 although will be getting the nexus 6 as soon as possible which will have it pre installed, but looks like even that could be a wait in the UK. I'm wondering if the RAW camera support will be good, even though I doubt it will replace a "real" camera.

Yes waiting to find out all the new bits.

Just a cautious note, if you watch Sky Go on the device they (Sky) are having issues with lollipop and are advising their customers to hang on for a bit until they have sorted it. Not an issue if you don't use Sky Go though.

Why rush? Wait for .03 with the bugs ironed out.
Hey don't dissuade another beta tester from wanting the latest and greatest. Things get fixed quicker when lots of people are having issues ;)

Case in point for that half-baked iOS8 update! Which was followed by an even-worse update! Quality-Control at it's finest there ;)

That was apple iosness! 5.0 will be fine, can't wait...

For anyone that doesn't know, Lollipop is now out and available for nexus devices from the Factory Images page. N5 is running sweet :)

Downloading it for my N7 2012 and 2013.
Adb sideload here we come!
Just need it for my N4 now.

The OTA rollout has also started for Nexus devices

I'm impatient though!
Used the factory image and Wugfresh toolkit to do my 2012 Nexus 7 tonight.
All done in about 15 mins including installing the Toolkit and downloading the factory image.
Not had a proper play with it yet but the idea of using the NFC to set up Lollipop is definitely welcome. Touched my 2013 N7 and it transferred all my account details and installed apps no problem. Didn't do widgets though but that's about it.
New notifications are nice as is the Material design look. Might do my other N7 if I get chance.

Well so far its proven a fantastic upgrade. Fast, fluid, stable and all-round improvements. Love it, and found a few things that I didn't notice in the dev preview :)

N4 factory images are out, impressed that it was that quick. Updated and rebooting as I type.

That's quick I was getting the impression that it would be at least a week being the N5.
Did your update go ok?

No probs at all.
I extracted the gallery apk from my KitKat install to use as the Lollipop gallery isn't as user friendly imho.
Also extracted the Lloyds banking apk as the version in the play store doesn't work on the ART runtime and thats all you can use as dalvik is no more on lollipop.

Not having any experience at loading factory images, I am waiting for the OTA upgrade for my Nexus 7 (2013). Nevertheless, some v5.0 stuff has arrived piecemeal already ie. Gmail app, Calendar app and Google+ so I am getting see the cosmetic side of things at least.

Curious that they would update individual apps when the whole os will be updated shortly.

Anthony.

Android has gone to a more modular design, so that all users regardless of the OS version can still experience the latest offerings of googles applications :) its a good solution to the carriers and manufacturers delaying OS update rollouts!

Received the OTA update on my Nexus 7 (2013) last night. All the app updates arrived at the same time.

Has anyone who's using lollipop noticed that the calendar icon no longer shows the current date, just 31 all the time. The widget shows correct date though.
Bit annoying, I liked that feature.

Same here, although if I'm perfectly honest I'd never noticed that it showed the correct date before!

Screenshots of 4.4 also show 31 on the calendar....

Hmmm. I must have installed something at some point then! The icon I had on 4.4.4 was almost identical to the current Lollipop icon but changed date.
Will have to have a look through my installed apps.

Not sure I like the layout of the new calendar app, preferred the old month overview where I could spot days without commitments at a glance.

OTA update for my N4 landed late last night, installing this am. Glad I waited till the morning as it's taking some time...

Took 50 mins to install for me, and then another half hour trying to work out how to turn it to silent mode! Turns out there isn't a way of having it silent but keeping the led notifications which is odd
Don't like separate Chrome tabs being treated the same as separate apps in multitasking so turned that off.
Haven't found anything that's really impressed me yet...

Got the notification tonight so I've connected to my home network and am downloading 5.0 to my Nexus 4 now.
At 400mb it should be in by......oooo...

...Boxing Day...

...2016.:/

Yes got the update for my Nexus 4 about 45 minutes ago. 10 minutes to download and about 20 to install. The only issue I've had was having to restart to get it to connect to the PlayStore after it insisted I updated it and then wouldn't connect

Well......it seems ok besides the digi clock widget not working, it says 23....., which is fine 23 oclockish is near enough..lol

When I first turned it on I was liking the minimalist look and simple icons, reminded me of the SlimBean rom I had on my old Galaxy S, but as it turns out, that's just the lock screen

Apart from the navi keys, it don't look that different, maybe there are more updates I dunno..

I take it back, its absolutely nothing like KitKat, me widget still doesn't work but everything else seems to without any califudgery.

I like it, its much fresher and holds on to hardly anything from the previous incarnations graphically :)

I like the way the back key rotates to close the keyboard. Hell, I'm even getting used to the all white keyboard itself!
New notifications are good as are the extended features on the pull down menu. Just wish tapping either mobile network or WiFi actually took you to that page in the settings rather than toggling them on and off.
I use Zooper pro for my clock/date/battery widget which still works great on Lollipop.

ETA: Also had some PayPal money burning a virtual hole in my pocket so upgraded from a Nexus4 to a 5. Smashing phone :)

I knacked the clock off, it was on my home screen but there's a clock on the lock screen so I don't think I'll miss it, in fact I haven't.

Sweet new style/design address book and the in call screen is much simpler, less cluttered than the giant id icon.

I dunno, its just a long long way from what's been there before, I mean all the previous os's from a design perspective were just tweaked and polished from Froyo to Jellybean, lollipop is quite a departure.

The name though, lollipop is of course.....abysmal

I'm gonna put Sherbet dib-dab in the suggestion box for the next one

Youve got a long wait until they get to S
I think they should call the next one "Murray Mint" :D

Lol.....I didn't realise it was alphabetical, I see why they missed K out.

Midget Gem........no its Marzipan......gotta be....lol
