this isn't particularly related to anything at all.

but, isn't it great!? HAHA
I just mean like, how different music can make you feel however it wants to, sort of thing.

and especially if you actually play an instrument I think it has so much power in it to help a person. I play piano, and I use it as a means of stress relief, whether thats cause the music is calming, or because I can smack the keys as damn hard as I like!

also, I always find inspiration for my photography work in music. If I listen to the right stuff, it doesnt directly affect what I do, but it influences my mood and that can change everything about my attitude to my work, which in turn manipulates my ideas.

100% agree :D

Well said!

music is awesome, I sometimes try and compose music but it's not easy...

I used to play the piano many moons ago, I really should start again, as you say strees relief and with the right tune very calming as well.

P.S your question has just reminded me of when i was very young, a hot summer evening me in bed upstairs and my mother playing the piano downstairs, The Harry lime theme, morning, moonlight sonata, and many more that i don't know the name of, sigh nostalga moment:lol:

I completely agree, i play saxophone and guitar, love em both, Its incredible that playing or just listening to different styles of music can put you in very different moods. I try and photography instruments because they are great, but i have had not much success so far. I want to keep trying.

Music is very good for linking to certain emotions - if you want you can very easily and deliberately create a link from a piece of music to any chosen emotion(s). Derren Brown did this in The Heist when he used "Can You Feel It" by the Jackson 5 as an anchor for the aggression and "can do it" attitude which helped with a number of other anchors and sleight of mouth suggestions that led 3 out 4 normal people to rob a security van at gun point.

I actually have a playlist on my iPod called "Motivate" that contains a collection of songs that I use when I want to get motivated.

**** Useless info alert ****
However, smells and tastes are actually better for creating such links as these senses have a direct hard wire to the central part of the brain. Other senses (sounds, touch and sights) all go through other parts of the brain and get "processed" before reaching the central brain.

I was just wondering....

I play the clarinet....

BADLY!

Where does this leave me??????
