I would go with Yorkshire tea - I wont open the can of worms that is 'milk' before or after the tea is in the cup :P

Milk first came about because the very fine bone china cups that became fashionable (in the victorian era?) used to break when hot tea was poured in first. :knowitallsmiley.gif:

But the tea was made in a pot first, not in the cup, so that little titbit doesn't really apply in this day and age.

Milk should always be added to the tea after it has been made, whether that be pouring the tea into the milk or pouring the milk into the tea.
 
Simply pointing out the origins of the myth glitch and myth it is :)
 
Wasn't the whole MiF thing debunked on QI? I'm sure I've seen it being discussed on TV, although that might just be my fevered imagination.

It sounds quite plausible, as all the good ones do, but I can't find a definitive rebuttal to the myth anywhere on the web. And I'm sure I've seen a really scientific one that also covered something about the milk clogging up the holes in the teabag or something equally bizarre.

I stand corrected! I REALLY didn't know that, I've never come across it at all. I know we like to take the mick out of the Lancashire / Yorkishire thing but it's all in fun... Not that I'd ever admit that in public of course!

Tea doesn't speak for me! I chuffin' hate the stuff, just the smell makes me want to ralf! Give me strong black coffee anyday, or a nice tin of Scrumpy Jack. And if I can get hold of it this far from Cornwall, a nice big bottle of Cornish Rattler.
 
Oh yes. A nice cuppa tea. Black with no suggar for me, so the milk first or last doesn't apply.



I even take a pack of 100 Tetley or Yorkshire tea bags when going off to work for a month. Much better than the usual Liptons yellow waterproof rubbish.
