I've just seen on Hot UK Deals that there is 15% off at TDCC but only on items in stock.

They currently have the Canon 5D at

£1298.99 - 15% = £1104.14
- Canon Cashback (£150) = £954 +£10 postage = £964

You could get another £22 back if you go through quidco.

The cheapest I can see on Camerapricebuster is £1109 after cashback.

Edit: Put '123' in voucher box at stage 5 whilst checking out.

There could be better deals on there but I'm tired and off to bed.:exit:

Yup, theyve gone. We got a flash mail via the affiliate thing the other day. DCC are going.

Dont be sure a credit card will save you if a company goes into liquidation as different rules apply and they cannot just do a charge back, their are other things you have to do first and they take a long time, I'm in the middle of recovering some money from a UK company that went into liquidation, after paying on credit card and its well complicated, so don't automatically think the money just gets credited to your account it doesn't.

Just checked my order history and the payment is on hold.
I was under the impression that the majority of internet companies did not charge you until
they dispatched the product??:shrug::help:
 
Phew - looks like I was lucky. I ordered a Manfrotto ball head from DCC last Sunday and received it Tuesday.

That was too close for comfort.

Website will stay live as long as the fees have been paid and nobody pulls the plug!

The liquidator is not interested as it doesn't appear in the accounts as either a Creditor or a Debtor with a balance outstanding!

Happens all the time.
 
I suppose its possible the stock has been paid for so the liquidator is selling it off at a discount to get some money in that is more than Canon/Nikon/Sigma would give to take it back, but I would have expected a notice on the site to sat whats going on though.

Lets hope all the things that get paid for arrive quickly.

The stock should still be available for purchase as it will be paying for the liquidator's fees first and foremost. I suppose they could auction it for a lesser price to achieve a quick sale but they probably won't be in any hurry as they'll keep being paid criminal amounts whilst being there. I'm surprised it didn't go into administration first, they must have been pretty far gone.
 
30% off a D300 would be great but I'm not going to risk that much money.

well, as long as your willing to risk losing your money, prob try phoning first though, seems wierd its internet only.
 
I got an email today explaining they've cancelled my order from Friday due to no stock. I've just got emails confirming the order cancelation.

I had a similar thing happen when I ordered a 40D body on friday. Shame really as it would have cost me 341 including postage after 100 cashback from Canon. Looking at my CC though the money seems to be outstanding so I need to call them to cancel prior to the liquidators getting it.

If the order is cancelled they can't take the money from your card, especially if the liquidators have taken over because charging your card would break the terms of the credit card agreements.

I can add my name to the list of cancelled orders, pitty would have liked the products at that price!! Gonna have to do more shopping:clap:
 
However I can add my name to the list of successful orders too. I ordered a D3 which they were out of stock of. But yesterday I ordered a Tamron 17-35mm, MD-B10 grip for my D300, and an EN-EL4 battery as they had those in stock. They turned up this lunchtime as promised.

I have one item notified out for delivery and should be here tomorrow according to Business Post tracking.
 
I ordered a Canon 580EX II and a WFT-E3 on Sunday evening. Both were in stock at the time and I got the full 30% off my invoice value. The goods were delivered today and I've checked them out and everything seems pristine and in good working order. Total net cost was £618, with £40 yet to come from Canon as a cash back for the 580EX and a further £39 tracked with Quidco. It remains to be seen whether that gets paid successfully, but I don't see why it shouldn't. Best price on Camerapricebuster for these items would be £824 before any cash backs, so that's over £200 saved.

By the way, given the concerns, I did drop a note to my credit card company and they assured me that if the card got charged and the goods failed to show all I'd need to do is to file a dispute.
 
They have a massive 30% off sign up at the moment... surely not? I don't have a CC or I'd buy buy buy. Anyone else bought anything today?
 
Well Im tempted tbh, with a sigma 10-20. Not sure though.
 
They've had the 30% sign up since Friday. Someone on DPR spoke to a member of staff by phone, and I have had an email conversation with a staff member. Basically they are clearing stock as the company has been bought out, and rather than move the warehouse they're just selling off everything in the warehouse. If it's not showing in stock there's no point in ordering, as it will just be cancelled, they are only accepting orders for stocked items. Well this is what we have been told. I placed 2 orders on Friday, and they both got cancelled due to lack of stock. I placed an order on Sunday for a lens, battery grip, and a battery and both turned up on Tuesday morning.
