Yes
I enjoy my daily commute. For me, I am lucky enough not to have to endure public transport or the chores of sitting in traffic as I can walk to work iPod on.

However do spare a thought whilst on your way to work tomorrow for our Japanese friends who will be wishing for a quiet day on the trains...."politely push at the back please!"

And people complain about overcrowding on British Rail!!

That's pretty amazing. I like how the stewards help out by shoving everyone in.

I still cant get over how everyone politely pushes.

In the UK with the first shove there would be a brawl on the platform...

The bit at the end makes me smile with everyone pressed up against the wiindows...

That's insane!

I've been on a couple of tube trains like that on the way home from Wembley Stadium concerts before now. I'd much rather drive.

Travelling by train in Japan is an experience. I've been on some of these morning commuter trains and everyone is exceedingly polite to one another even though you are crushed together. The one thing that got me every time though is the fact that the doors on those trains are designed for smaller people than your tallish Westerner. I'm 6ft 2ins and every time without fail I'd bash my head on those train doors when getting off - much to the amusement of the teenage girls going to school on my train.

Hahaha :D

I've seen pictures of them using shoehorn-style tools to get people in and out too.

I thought Glasgow Queen St at 17:35 was bad

That was hilarious - they were so silent too !
