I've been shooting motorsports now for a few years, provide photos for a blog etc. My name is out there with the drivers and teams.
I don't make any money off this though, and I have no idea how to get into the real business, such as wedding photography etc. I'm 17 also, so is my age against me? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

If there's money to be made, someone will be doing it already. If not at the meetings you attend, then perhaps bigger ones. See how they do it. Basically you shoot pictures, tout them around, see who buys. Put yourself forward for commissions. Send them to the press and offer to cover events for them. Your age will go against you initially, but your work will win through eventually if you're up to the mark.

On the weddings front, get some relevant people pictures together and take them around to local photographers and ask if you can help out as an assistant or maybe even as a second shooter.

You need talent. Determination and persistence, and a very thick skin ;) Good luck

You need to speak to a chap called Matt Sayle on here. Started at a similar age to you and now travels the country to shoot racemeetings and has a motorsport vision pass.
He earnt his dues at Oulton Park.

You start at the bottom and work your way up. Attend the club events week in, week out, in fair weather and foul and eventually you'll get there.

The other thing is maybe your style of photos is not what the punters actually want.
