There are defiantly more male togs out there, and on here. Having an in site into your subject definatialy helps. Who do i think make the best? Well sorry girls but im gonna have to say blokes. Mostly cos yeah they seem to pick up the techy side quicker and secondly cos i think they catching the emotion stuff is crap what's the point of capturing the emotion if its oof and underexposed!

Thats my rant for the morning!

No, both sexes are equally creative because our human 'creative eye' has been honed over millions of years to spot quality dna, both in human form, (the opposite sex and how beautiful we find them) and all the way over to which vegetables to eat and which tree is most suitable for whatever purpose.

All living things have compositionally symmetrical elements derived from their lengthy evolution, at least that’s how us earthlings see it.
... this is where the we realised the rules of good composition could be explained and built ..nature designed our word, our brain interprets what’s beautiful and what’s not, but only because that’s how nature designed us to respond…good dna is symmetrical/attractive and beautiful, bad dna is ugly..

After all women don’t fancy men more than men fancy women …they can both be rampant perverts given the chance right.

And from an evolutionary point of view it would be insane to have one sex being able to spot good dna more than the other sex …obviously better for both to spot the ideal partner etc.

So both sexes are armed with the same abilities to see what’s beautiful and what’s not. Therefore both are equally able to create masterpieces.

I have to disagree Toothie about men picking up techy things faster than women. I love reading manuals and can usually complete most so called techy tasks extremely quickly. Some of our male friends come round to ask my advice on how to use their techy things. It's never occurred to them to read the manual. I think they think it was just to wrap the goods in.

When training local businesses to use IT I find that the women pick it up much quicker than the men. Maybe it's just because they are more inclined to listen to a woman; I'm afraid that many men assume that a woman can't possibly know such things as how to repair a car, how to rebuild and program a computer, make technical drawings (you should see some of the ones men bring to me in my manufacturing business - they're an insult to doodling) etc.

Most of my women friends have engineering, geology, physics or biochemistry degrees, and so you mustn't make assumptions. I don't consider all men to be slow at techy things just some of them, and the same goes for women. I think it just depends on the person and so we shouldn't generalise.

As for catching the emotion, I find that some men are more into capturing the emotion than woman, and some woman are more into capturing the emotion than men.

As for more male togs on the forum than women, there is probably a reason for that. Lots of woman with a young family and a job wouldn't have time to come on here. If you notice; as a woman; how many times has a male tog assumed that we were male, rather surprising as my handle is "hillwalking girl".

Anyway I've just looked at your photos on flickr and I think you are doing yourself down. You are female and your photos look very good to me.:thumbs:

Well that's the end of my rant, and now Alby will be smiling as he's got us all going. I'm going to say 50-50, just depends on the person.:wave:

I'm in a very technical field too (actually not far removed from biochemistry!) and I have to be able to do process management/medical applications as well as technical presentations/demos/training. I think that both sexes have the natural aptitude to be technical/empathetic. It depends on the individual not the chromosomes.

So says AliB who happens to be an advanced driver too! :lol:

I’ve been trying a lot of flower shots of late, maybe I’m trying to get in touch with my feminine side :thinking:

Maybe if I moaned a lot, went shopping constantly buying many pairs of shoes and handbags it would improve my flower photography :exit:
 
I would also say it is totally unrelated to gender.

I have seen some female togs who wouldn't know a special moment if it bit them on the behind...

Matter of 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration I say - man or woman.:thumbs:
 
Blokes are women are equal in terms of photography. However, don't ask women about the workings of an internal combustion engine, or ask them to reverse park the car. :exit:

Women on TP take far more flower shots than men, but the most impressive & inspirational I've seen so far were from PXL8 (male - I think he'll agree)

His flower work even inspired me to have a go !!!

I think it has to be men shooting women....... cos if women where given guns non of us blokes would be alive! :D

No a more serious note I think through history that it tends to be men, but in this modern day and age I think there are some fantastic women photographers, esp in Wedding photography.

Judged by three of the most experienced on this forum (yet to be decided) ..or maybe just the mods to stop ... all sort of problems. ;)

Two weeks from now all entries should be in.

No gimmicks, no close ups, no oddities, just flowers.

The girls choose their ten best, and the same for the boys and the judges decide the answer to life the universe and everything.

around half of sales are my wife's (webcaf) and half mine (sportysnaps)
