The 'best' thing you've ever bought?

Best:
My 1965 MG Midget when I was 17. Gave me freedom. Then helped me meet the first true love of my life, Gill, on the Beaujolais run in 1988. Haven't seen her for 22 years but still love her if I'm honest. The car has become part of the family. Still own it now I'm 48. It's in bit's but they will have to dig me a big hole when I go 'cos it's going with me!

Worst:
The Nikon 80-200 AF-D f2.8 sooo cheap from Lithuania...... will I ever learn??

Well I've changed my mine I hope, while I love my old landie, I really hope that my best ever purchase will be my just ordered new camera

If the S3 breaks down, you hit it with a large hammer and it goes again..... I wouldn't recommend that with the new camera

You come anywhere near my new camera with a hammer and I'll take my s3 crank handle to you :bat:  I wish I could say the s3 was still in use but I've gone soft and got to used to my P38 now :shake:

Of course.... it's only likely to be a Canon, so the hammer would be fine :p;)

Best

a) engagement ring for swimbo
b) Our dog , kim
c) My Rab down jacket (£45 bargain of the year on ebay)

Worst

a) the money pit MX5 we used to own - paid 4 grand for it , spend nearly 2 grand trying to keep it on the road, part exed it for 2 grand 2 years later

b) Beko tumble drier - absolute pile of crap , broke 3 days after the waranty expired (the second hand miele that replaced it nearly made it on to the best things list)

Interesting how many cars make it..... both best and worst

 just remember do I own a Canon or a Cannon :suspect: :naughty:

lol! I love this place!

The four pregnancy tests my wife and I bought just to really get it to sink in...

I think the best things have to be

1. Decks, I've been mixing for 14 years spinning vinyl :)

2. iPad, I do mostly everything on it, even the paternoster lift model design

3. DSLR(s), they are my bread and butter, I can't do my job very well without them

4. Paternoster lift parts, well you know it makes sense :D

5. Fish tank, because even a 386 can get lonely

Edit: forgot the worst things

1. N97 phone, great when it works but otherwise spent more time being repaired

2. Windows Vista, horrid OS like ME all over again

3. TV licence, just no point what so ever in paying for tripe on the box, haven't missed it one bit

That nearly made me blub :'( If this is now, congrats to both of you

Best thing I ever bought ...........
A half pint of larger for a very pretty girl when I was 16. Worth every penny
So many years ago, still married to her

Awe bless! .... :)

Worst - FZR 1000 EXUP.. Fast but never out the shop.

Really?? I bought one new ten years ago and it never went wrong in the 50k miles I did on it...until I wrote it off last week that is:bang:

Doesn't make my 'best' list though.

1- House. Only ever bought one and I still live in it 20 years later.
2- Motorbike lessons/licence. I think in the 15yrs I've been riding I must have saved several months of time from sitting in traffic or travelling on public transport.
3- Sky+. This means I only have to turn the tv on one day a week.:)

1 - it's got to be my cameras, 30D, 5D2 and even my compacts, they have paid for themselves with the work I have produced from them and then some.

2 - my car, it's only a Yaris but one with a 1.8L engine in it, not many of those on the road and love mine despite some short comings. It has given me freedom and mobility like never before.

Worst. - DVD, over 500 of them and I think I could have save money on 90% of them, that's £15 x 450 that I should have saved.

It was a joy to ride, but the electrics were shot to pieces, reg/rec goosed and wiring harness made of liquorice laces. You OK after writing yours off?

1. House - Only bought 4 weeks ago, bit of a hole at the moment so working on that

2. My Focus ST-2 - was a brilliant car with all the toys but had to get rid of it to save for 1.

3. A bean bag - great to chill out on after work

Definitely the engagement ring my other half now wears.:)

my first imac - it had a direct impact on my stress levels of using computers when I no longer had to suffer windoze

worst thing - a metal shoe rack from argos that plagued me for 2 years, falling apart and getting in the way, until I finally replaced it with a wooden one. Boy did I get annoyed at that thing
