Yes
What in your opinion is the best thing you've ever bought?
Doesn't have to be camera related, and the definition of 'best' could mean totally different things to different people.
What i mean by the post, is something that you've bought that's exceeded all expectations, and gives you a huge smile every time you use the 'thing'.
Here are mine;

1) Hammock. Bought this one off Amazon for £35, and is probably the best thing i've bought!(should of been £50+ too!)

I take it down the park and relax in it while the kids play (if i can keep em out of it!), and it's better than i ever thought they could be, so comfortable. Only problem with it is everyone wants to get in it too!

2) Goose and duck feather/down duvet.
Brilliant!! so warm, heavy, and comfy. I love me bed and sleeping (etc!).
Got an 18 tog arctic one in a sale for £45, getting a bit warm now springs here though!!

3) The camera of course! or both of them. So impressed by the quality of the pics the FZ45 takes, and naturally the 60D is my pride and joy. :)

also, what's the worst thing you've ever bought??

A motorhome..

Ah, I feely guilty not nominating my dog now. I guess I didn't think of him as something I bought, more like a stroppy mate who looks after my bike and camera when I'm not at home! :D

Best - my integrale (when it's behaving, when it isn't it moves to worst!)
Worst - some stupid philips all in one remote. Expensive paper weight.

Porsche Boxster S. Eight years now, looking tatty around the edges as I'm not big on "detailing" or fixing dents, I just want a car that goes and stops, but still puts a smile on my face every morning on the drive to work. Single best inanimate thing I've ever bought.

I adopted my (now late) cat from a rescue centre rather than bought her, so I'm not sure she counts. Would like to adopt another, but my new house is a permenant building site with the amount of decorating I am doing (entire house needs basically gutting and starting from scratch) and I think it's best to wait until I'm done.

....that bird in Thailand.... or my RX-7 twin turbo, can't really decide.....

....that bird in Thailand.... or my RX-7 twin turbo, can't really decide.....

My brother has one of them (RX-7 turbo, not a Thai 'bird'). It's jolly quick, similar sort of acceleration to my car but not as good handling. Not many of them about now.

i think mine has to be my HD projector combined with double garage conversion into cinema / PS3 room. Mint innit :geek:

My best would be my Mondeo ST TDCi, permanent grin on my face even when it was standard. Also included in the best would be the upgrades to the car, larger intercooler, silicon boost hoses, decat pipe, perfomance exhaust, uprated brakes, lowered springs and a remap. All leads to a much bigger grin. Clutch nearly burnt out on Monday, but still car provides a big grin.

My MacBook Pro and my engine I built for my fiesta even though it blew up!!

Only problem with it is everyone wants to get in it too!

In some situations that could be a good thing!

For me it's bamboo socks, seriously if you haven't tried them yet, do it now!

Closely followed by Egyptian cotton bedding and my TouchPad. :)

Well it could we be changed in the next week or so at the moment I'm going to go with my 1977 Series 3 88 inch Land Rover, that's the car I learnt to drive in, and took and passed my test in I loved that car

But I'm looking at a new toy errm I mean tool and I'm thinking of hitting the buy button now :D

The 3 motocross bikes I used to have not that long ago, good times and it kept me Really fit !!!

I'd like to say my Honda CBF 125, but that wasn't my money... but it did reduce my commute from 3 hours and £10 a day on the train to next to 40 mins each way and a few quid of fuel or so on the bike with a smile on my face when I get to work!

I'm sure my best purchase is coming this year, a BMW F650 when I pass my test!

Worst buy is definitely a Sigma 28mm F/1.8 - didn't know at the time that the older (better!) model doesn't work on digital bodies, so only able to shoot it at F/1.8. Shame.

Edit: Actually thinking about it, the 5D Mark II was a joint worst. I thought I could handle the rubbish AF system, but there's just no chance, I've been shooting the 1D series since 2006. I guess I'm just spoilt.

Split between a snowboard, my XBOX 360 and my old Kenwood 5-ring cooker that I left at my old house when I moved.

Blimey, that's a tough one....

could be

a) first ever DSLR that got me addicted to photography... Now on DSLR 3 & 4.
b) current car - first Diesel... Only a 1.3 Punto, but plenty of horses, plenty of torques and best part of 65mpg, not driving it frugally...

but has to be

c) my vistaprint poloshirts... Ordered 2. Received 17 (yes, 17, that is not a typo) and they have refunded me best part of £60, (despite spending less than £10) for the pleasure, and will not accept returns, nor acknowledge the fact they have refunded me an odd amount. "I can assure you our accounts system is correct, yes?"

"Erm OK"

So technically not bought them.

The white metal model of an old ERF EC10 6x2 that I hand built for my Dad in Scottish and Newcastle Brewers livery (what he used to drive).
The look on his face when he saw it and the satisfaction that its the only one in the world.

RD350LC great fun, wish I still had it

gasgas ec300 enduro bike

more recently a Sigma 50mm f2.8 macro , bought off here and I love it !!!

I don't have a bike anymore :'(
Had to give em up due to rising insurance, wife, kids...
I had (in chronological order) an FS1E, RD125LC, CB400N, TZR125, RD350F2.
I sometimes have dreams i still have the RD350, and when i wake up and realise i haven't, i'm absolutely gutted!

as for my worst buy...grass trimmers:bang:
