The wait!

I took the Nikon F5 with the 85mm f1.8 lens out for Mothers Day lunch today and reeled off a couple of rolls of film, whilst our family were altogether. The depth of field with this lens is amazing and we were in a small country pub with tiny windows so it was mostly shooting wide open, I'm really hoping some of the pictures came out well, as it was a lovely day and to have pictures of it would be great. We have four daughters out of five kids and three of them have children so it was mothers galore with one great grandmother, 4 grandmothers all coming for dinner too. We basically took over the whole of the pub, luckily the landlord is a good friend and made sure we had the Gp on in the corner to keep us lads quiet!

By the time we'd finished it was too late for dropping off for developing so I'm now just itching to get them in and see the results. Although I did find a couple of films in some Medium format TLR's I'm putting on ebay, so as they are C41 process I should be able to get them developed relatively easily so I shall be able to see whether these Mamiyas and Yashicas have taken good photographs.

Richard, can you please let me have your e bay bidding listing number; or your ID name, so that I can keep track of your items...

Its very difficult for me here as I've been an OM fan all my life but I've sitting here this evening surrounded by Gorgeous Nikon lenses!!

Just been playing with a Nikkormat FT2 which has with it in its pretty heavy bag a 135mm f2.8, it fits lovely on the F5 too :D The FT lenses here are pretty impressive with a 300mm a 150mm, a 55m macro which focuses down to 9.5" and a couple of other wide angle FT lenses to go with it.

They are pretty nice lenses. though doesn't Nikon stuff weigh a ton more than OM kit?

Well picked up the films from Tesco today, and I'm really happy.

Here's one of my Mother in law, don't tell her I'm postin her piccy all over the internet ;)

Very difficult conditions the pub is an ironstone traditional place with tiny windows and its was ever so dark so it was really nice to get some pictures of the dinner.

Date expired Kodak Portra 160VC bought from the classifieds on here, though I'm afraid its all gone now.

Taken at about 1/10th of a sec handheld at 1.8

Thanks for the comments

I bought some of this too, I'm not normally a fan of colour print film, I usually stick to b&w or slide film but it's the best colour print film I've ever used, I just love the colours.

This picture was taken with my Bessa R with the same film in and although the composition isn't quite right but the colour is amazing.

And this one of my dog again with the Bessa R rangefinder its one of my favourites, he's a really handsome hound but very difficult to photograph, as his black is so black so its very dificult to pick up the detail in a photograph.

These were taken with a Jupiter 8 lens which I love!!

Am even going to sell the Canon 50mm f1.8 lens which was on there previously and just use the Jupiter 8

I'm lucky that I bought some more of the Portra and have over 20 left to shoot ;)

I've still got most of a pack left, but I've just put a roll of Kodachrome in the Yashica Electro so I'll have to wait til that's finished.

Great detail on your dog too.
