Browsing Tesco's plethora of import booze, I happened upon this beauty - Sapporo Imported, a drink I've never seen before (Sapporo Black I saw in Japan) and one that has posssible the coolest packaging I've seen.

Just put it in the freezer for an hour to frost it off a bit, then flicked water onto it to give it that fresh, cold look. It's far too DIY looking but it's my base shot to start this project from.

Anyway, I've set myself a little goal; over the next few weeks I'm going to try to nail 'THE' shot of this can and until I do so, it's going to remain unopened. It means I get to savour it when I've worked hard AND try out lighting techniques to help me improve my studio work - wish me luck!....

Great idea for a project, ideally you need to have the thing COVERED in tiny droplets of water. May be a case of spending hours experimenting with your fridge and an atomiser.

Good luck though! :)

p.s. You could just hire van damme to stand behind it.

Sounds like a good idea and challenge. Can you keep to it though?!
I'd say the starting shot is fine, drink up

blimey me., that used to be over here 1995 or so.

The ring pull was the whole top so you drank it from the can like from a glass.

Yeah, I remember that from the early 90s - there was a "Beers of the world" bar round here and the game was to start at A and see how far through the alphabet you could get, Japan was usually about it for me

Now it' just like a normal can ring pull so you have the little hole to drink from - but it's a cool shape nonetheless :)

....So here's part two:

The second piece of 'The Beer Can Project' puzzle, I thought something utilising my little boy's toys would work tomnight. One of the little Pizza Parlour aliens from Toy Story seemed apt because I've just sat through TS2 twice and TS3 four times today, as the little man has been doing a bit of telly viewing today.

Very good picture Pat and I know how you must be feeling after your TS exploits :D I have two young nephews and honestly if I have to watch anymore thomas the tank engine or Ben 10 I think I'll smash my head against a hard brick wall some times

My only niggle with this photo is more concept based as it's extremely well taken  but I don't think it really says beer

PS was this from tesco Rugby  as looked at tesco Daventry and saw no sign of it :(

Like this project will keep checking in, good luck.

Nice idea and cool pics so far. But my Ideal photo of this subject would be a half full glass and a crhshed can ready for the bin.

Looks like a good project to start, but certainly a hard one!

Something that's stuck in my mind as a good idea regarding this project, is maybe having droplets of water on the can which is sat in a puddle of water with some half melted ice around? As if the puddle was made from a stack of ice around the can...

Just me two cents, and good luck on not drinking it, it would of gone days ago had it been me!

Definately a good idea for a project. You might not be drinking that badboy for a while though!

OMG, this has taken its time to get to part three - shows how busy, err..... lazy I am!! :)
