The Art of Flight (snowboarding video)

Looks awesome, cant wait for the release. Roll on September. This looks set to take over from Lame as my favourite snowboard film

While I'm not reeeeeally that big a fan of "extreme sports" (could never understand the concept of dicing with death on purpose, that "living life to the max" thing, but that's the old man in me speaking) the quality and production of the video via the internet is astounding! Really does show how far the 'web has come along over the years.

makes me want to grab a phantom camera and a helicopter or two....

Watched it the other day - amazing. As good as any sports documentry as I've seen. Stunning heli shots and some sweet, sweet riding. Think I'm a bit in love with Travis Rice....

I watched it a few days after release and wasn't that impressed, I got so bored of all the helicopter flying through a mountain range shots, it honestly seemed like I spent more time watching that than actual snowboarding.

The camera work was great(although I personally think there were too many slo-mo shots) but the entire film was let down by the content.

I suppose the thing for me was (without watching That's It, That's All) it was very, very different to the majority of shred films I've seen lately, especially the urban jib stuff where it's not that much of an interest to me. I love watching people slaying it off big booters, or jibbing tree stumps (etc), but once they've landed the trick they're then just back to hammering it down the mountain, which is what I love about snowboarding.

Compared to the Absinthe stuff I will say it's very, very decadant and hollywood, but that's Rice and Red Bull for you. It's definitely gone past the stuff of the late 90s and early 00s.

I hear the guy who filmed it (curt morgan??) has gone onto do loads of work, including car adverts but with his trademark slo-mo filming :)
