The analogue to digital film back

So after a lot of mulling over the subject i now have the question , which Nikon DSLR camera body,s will accept manual Ai lenses and with a PC socket or a hot shoe , is the a cross reference list out there. Its another consideration, after all why buy an experimental piece of kit when there are already proven ones out there like Nikon body,s !.

That isn't quite what I was getting at. Surely it could be done with a lens rather than a focus screen (which must reduce light transmission and sharpness) but then as I said in my ealier post, presumably most if not all cheap CCDs come with a lens attached and that complicates things; also having a lens produced is more expensive than a focus screen (aka translucent plastic).
