He did go on at length about when he'd use what but maybe in another vid. I do see how he could be annoying if you take him too seriously. I just liked it when he said things most don't.
I disagree with him that MFT can't compete with "crop". I suppose it depends what we compare and in what light but IMO my MFT cameras competed very well with my X100s/f.
It is borderline acceptable to post highly contentious technical points in a forum like this, but remember these youtube vids from this chap present the public face of his fairly substantial brand. His direct clients might not care about these topics if all else is perfectly on track, but if he does or plans to do any teaching he is well and truly out of consideration. Maybe it is their little elitist clique or whatever.... at the very top you get away with just 1 dot or a single line on a blank canvas.
I too happen to say a lot what others hold back. On here. I try not to post things I might professionally regret on youtube or my blog, let alone printed media. He is a great example of what not to do.
Professional equipment is really what allows a professional to achieve professional grade results. Not a brand snobbery show.
Seiko watch. Poverty spec. You should get a Rolex.
Driving vw or audi? 2014? Meh. Show up in Bentley or keep on driving.
Shooting Godox? Better luck bringing Profoto next time. Actually Broncolor nad Elinchrom trumps that. FAIL.
Canon, Nikon Sony, even Fuji GFX? Meh. Haselblad is entry level. Phase one is really expected.
And so on...
Regarding your last point - it really depends what for. Resolution is not the strong part at the moment if your baseline output is A1+ poster print (other use cases are available). In fact why bother if you can't print 5m long on demand... /sarcasm
I am currently playing with DJI Mavic 3c which is basically your standard 20MP MFT and it is a little underwhelming what I got out of it so far. The little lens may be the biggest culprit. There is a fair bit of noise too. Video looks very nice, and in theory you should have no problem getting A3 or a little higher prints from that sensor with a good lens.
I believe mavic 4 really upped the game through. 25MP and it looks proper good based on publicly available RAW samples. You are pushing A1 here. So MFT has some nice potential, let alone all the other use cases
