Honestly this is not normal and warranty or no warranty it's a blatant manufacturer issue since firmware updating caused it.This basically.
Anyways after resetting it back to factory settings it still drained the battery.
And each time I test I try a different authentic battery
I'm pretty sure you'd easily win a section 75 claim for such issues but generally speaking Sony should fix this for free.
Even if i bought the camera in the UK, manufacturers release firmware updates well past usual 1 year warranty. It's pretty reasonable to expect that those updates don't break you camera and if it does the manufacturers should take the responsibility and fix it for free even outside warranty.
