The battery has about twice the capacity of the FW50 in the original A7, so will take much longer to charge, particularly if you are used to charging your A7 battery in an external charger (which is faster than via camera).
The A7iv grip is bigger than that of the A7iii - if you do decide to return the A7iii have a look at the A7iv, as it may resolve the issues you have.
Its not the size of grip I don't like it's the shape of the indent. It forces my middle finger up against what is effectively an end stop and it feels unnatural and uncomfortable for me.
I've only had severe handling issues once before, with the Panasonic G7 and posting on this site told me I wasn't the only one as other people felt the same about that camera, I just couldn't live with it. I've never had this level of discomfort with any other camera I've had and this is putting me off swapping this III for anything else on line. I think I'd be much happier handling the kit in a shop but that means a day trip out probably by taxis and trains as driving there and parking is just more hassle these days.
I keep picking it up and trying to get used to it. I might have to take time and make a decision over days rather than over night. I can see how other people wouldn't be bothered by port doors or grips but as photography is such a big part of my life and as I do some just about every day I do want something which doesn't get in the way or spoil the enjoyment too much.
I know the first generation A7's have been critisised for their ergonomics but the A7 just fitted my hand perfectly and going from that to the III is a big change because of the shape of the indent in the grip and I really didn't expect this.
