Excellent photos to my eyes the flicker ones seem slightly sharper.
Thanks, I thought so myself but not trusting my eyes

Which Bird of Prey Centre were these taken at, I'm struggling to find one where the birds don't have jesses?Great shotsWhich Bird of Prey Centre were these taken at, I'm struggling to find one where the birds don't have jesses?
After reviewing my shots I'm actually changing my tune, both have their place actually and it's not as night and day as I thought, although I do still think on the whole I prefer the 50mm for these kinds shotsJust been to Cromford Classic Car Show, I definitely prefer 50mm over 35mm for these events. Always thought this, but today has confirmed it![]()
I do fancy a 35 and i'll be honest im very much leaning towards the Sigma 35/2 and Sigma 90/2.8 combo as they fit my 'tiny' needs and the summer cash back from SIgma may just swing it!I don't know if you fancy a 35mm or not but if you do don't forget the old Sony 35mm f2.8. The new G lenses are very nice and they're nicely made and have aperture rings and that could be very nice on an A7c as it lacks a second near top of camera control dial but that old 35mm is IMO well worth a look, I think it's excellent.
The Sony 35mm f1.8 is small and light, sharp and renders nicely.I do fancy a 35 and i'll be honest im very much leaning towards the Sigma 35/2 and Sigma 90/2.8 combo as they fit my 'tiny' needs and the summer cash back from SIgma may just swing it!

Well you make compromises for that.I genuinely didn't know there was a full frame camera that was (in some aspects) smaller and overall at the very least the same size as a tiny M4/3 cam! Almost seems too good to be true!
I want an aperture ring on all my lenses, but I’d definitely have to have them if I only had one control dial.As the A7c lacks a second near top of camera control dial and I detest using the back central wheel if a gun was put to my head and I was forced to use the camera I'd stick to lenses with an aperture ring for handlings sake. The 24, 40 and 50mm G's have an aperture ring but sadly the old 35mm f2.8 doesn't. I don't know about the Sigmas.

How come? Thanks to you I don’t have one on the way![]()
I can’t believe I’ve only just started using aperture rings, it’s such a revelationYeah, same for me. I was shooting yesterday evening with the A7Riii/35GM and the A7/FE85 and there was a bit of confusion going on at times!

Completely agree and the Sigmas have the aperture ring, they aren’t a cheaper option, indeed more expensive than a similar Sony but they do review better. As the A7c lacks a second near top of camera control dial and I detest using the back central wheel if a gun was put to my head and I was forced to use the camera I'd stick to lenses with an aperture ring for handlings sake. There’s always a compromise with cameras!Well you make compromises for that.
1/4000s mechanical shutter, 1/160s flash sync speed, can't turn off EFCS
I love that rear wheel. As the A7c lacks a second near top of camera control dial and I detest using the back central wheel if a gun was put to my head and I was forced to use the camera I'd stick to lenses with an aperture ring for handlings sake. I love that rear wheel.
Makes the a7c a dream to use
I use it on the a1 to control ISO
Camera set to manual, SS and Aperture set and the rear wheel to select ISO along with Zebras
Works great!!

That’s impressive, will you have a ceremony when it finally gives up the ghostI have a bit of a soft spot for cameras with the VF in the corner and if the things that annoy me about the A7c are addressed in the mk2 it could just be something for me to consider when my A7 eventually gives up.
I've just looked at my orders from Wex and I see that I got my A7 in November 2013 so it'll be 10 years old this year, I think that's pretty good going and good value for money.

I love that rear wheel.

My rear dial is set to have a function for each of the directions, and WB on the rotation of it. I guess the rotary component could be used for aperture/shutter but it’s not a natural thumb position whilst using the camera imo.I have tried my A7 with the same configuration and I have a Panasonic camera with no other choice I just don't like it as I do now and again accidentally jog the wheel and dial in unwanted changes.
As always, good luck to you and others who like this but given the choice between this set up and a camera with two or three near top of camera dials and the latter is what I'll buy.

Does it work with teleconverters?
How come?
I never alter WB in camera. My rear dial is set to have a function for each of the directions, and WB on the rotation of it. I guess the rotary component could be used for aperture/shutter but it’s not a natural thumb position whilst using the camera imo.
I never alter WB in camera.
I prefer doing it in post.
My thumb is now geared up for finding the rear wheel straight away
In the end, this is the beauty of our Sony cameras - the ability to customize the camera to suit everyone's personal shooting preferences![]()
