Thanks. He fell off a climbing wall exactly 1 week ago, saved his face with his left arm but broke the ulnar and damaged the wrist. Went into the JR in Oxford and we finally got home 4am Saturday, only to have to get up at 6.30 to get him back in again for review about surgery or not. After some delays he was told Friday, only to then have it brought forward to yesterday. The surgeon was please with how it went (plate + 6 screews, apparently nice & strong) and today he wasn't too uncomfy.
This kind of repair is somewhat familiar - Ti rod in left femur, various bits wired together, screw in collar bone, now this. He shattered his pinkie so badly mountain biking that it required an external fixator, reassembled under local anaesthetic because he had to drive himself back from Vancouver to Whistler where he was working. Ben has a high pain threshold, and needs it.
