I have another Fuji, a X100f and it seems to work except the push on lens cap is very lose and just falls off. Luckily I had a spare 49mm centre pinch cap.

I don't think it's as good as the A7, just my HO.

One thing that surprised me with the X100s is that the reds seemed to blow very quickly. I took a picture of Mrs WW with a red coat on and large areas blew. I found a similar picture I'd taken with MFT and it was better but maybe the lighting was subtly different. I'll see how this f goes.

The A7 is still me best camera :D

I'm sure I read somewhere that the old free version of Nik isn't compatible with the latest version of PS. I don't know about later PS versions and later versions of Nik.

I just use CS5 if I want to use Nik, all it costs me is the disk space I haven't freed up by not deleting CS5.

I forgot to check if I could save changes in NIK from within PS the other day :headbang:

Just had a look and had the same problem as you in that I could open the image in silver efex , I could make changes but when I clicked on OK it just took me back to PS with no changes applied.

The problem seems to be down to NIK not being able to make a new layer in PS with the filter applied.

The workaround is to create a duplicate layer in PS before opening NIK filters. Then from within the NIK filter window go to "settings" then "after clicking OK" and change this to "apply the filtered effect to the current layer"

Now when you click OK you are taken back to PS with the changes applied to the duplicate layer you created earlier.

The change to the settings need to be made to each of the NIK filters.

Be interesting to see how genuine those deals are, if they lower the trade in price then apply the bonus like they did last time it's misleading.
They offered me significantly less on my A7R III than Cameraworld who didn't have any trade in bonuses.

Some are saying any camera and/or lens. So you could trade in a cheapo kit lens and get the deal.

Anyway. As it's a bit quiet.

Pictures from last winter. A7 and Voigtlander 35mm f1.4.

I remember taking this picture, early January this year. It was freezing cold and away from the house and street lighting it was very dark, much darker than this exposure. Handheld at 1/6 sec at f2 and ISO 3,200. I could only do it at that speed because I was frozen in place :D Moon through the trees.

I can’t see that there’d be anything to tempt me to want it, if I’m going to upgrade from my A9II it’s be for an A1 to get the resolution too.

I don’t need any more fps, I don’t need any video upgrades as I don’t shoot video. Improved AF is always nice but it’s not worth upgrading for, especially when the A9II is already so good.

The big wish list for me (other than global shutter) is a smooth blackout free evf at slow shutter speeds. Apparently the A1 is better but not perfect.
 
Just wondering and maybe a stupid question, but do they latest mobile phones use global shutters? I ask because when I go to take a photo with the P7 pro under some types of lighting it has a lot of interference for a split second and then the screen suddenly does something and it all goes away.

I am patiently waiting for these. Better option for me compared to the A1. This is likely to have the new a.f learning system from the A7R5 as well.

I was going to say Amazon has the same offer but you cannot claim the £100 cashback with amazon.

so with JL you can get it for £375 with the £100 cashback which is a steal for a new copy of this lens!

Some people think they still are.
May be they are reading the old T&Cs

I'm not sure if you'll even get Sony warranty if purchased from Amazon

It's just a little more than I paid used a couple of years ago, before cashback. It's a good lens, just not exciting.

Would you go for the Samyang 45mm over the Sony 55mm or would you just go for the G Master
