Update to the 135mm purchase. I’m actually in love, limited use but when you can use it, it’s bloody good!

From the rumor site... A cheery lady reviews the 24-70mm f2.8...

They have done wonders with the size and weight of this (and their 70-200mm GM2) but the 24-70mm is still a bit too heavy as a 'walkabout' lens, which is what I'd use it for. I rarely use the 24-105mm for that reason. That look awesome. I will never be able to buy one but the size and weight looks impressive. Mirrorless has really come a long way!

It depends, if just out on a dog walk I use the EM10-II with 12-32mm pancake. If I’m going somewhere specific I’ll usually take the 16-35mm f4, but occasionally the 24-105mm. I do often regret selling the 24-70mm f4 as that was a good size and weight. I keep hoping that Sony will bring out a new one as it’s long overdue a refresh imo but there’s never been anything in the pipeline.what do you use for walkabout?
I use a tiny samyang 35mm f2.8 and a samyang 75mm f1.8. I use to love primes but at the moment I just feel lazy and that I always have the wrong lens for the wrong time. Thinking that the 24-105 would help me going back into taking photos. A bit of a one lens do-it-all approach.

I hope they don’t start implementing electronic zooms in all their lenses but I’ve a feeling they will do it on a number of lenses to appease the video crowdSeeing the new 16-35 f4 from sony, i'm sure they will do the same to the 24-105. With electronic zoom and smaller size?

Me neither. There's a guy on flickr (Jon Siegel) who does similar editing that I really like but can't get close to it.Nice edit, I've never been successful with trying to get that look.

No, the readout time isn’t fast enough on the A7 series,….. yet.I couldn't easily find an answer to this, are there any other camera bodies in the a7 range (i.e. not a1 or 9) that have full time, fully usable electronic shutter indoors and out? I have an a9 and an a7III and it's got to the point where I actively try not to use the a7III at weddings, the silence of the a9 is just perfect for my style and the a7III silent shutter is too slow to be useful in many circumstances (lights, moving people!)
I will probably get another a9, but thought I best check the options first.
Definitely feeling better about the dynamic range I'm able to pull out of the A9 now, the AF is barely able to keep up at the moment so I think moving to an A7R iv would have been a mistake.
The black and white fur is a challenge sometimes but I prefer to lean to exposing the white and perhaps losing a little in the black to retain some contrast and mood.

Slower apparently. The IV is reportedly 1/15s whereas the III is 1/20s, neither are fast and rolling shutter will be noticeable in a number of scenarios. Is the A7IV any faster than the other A7 series cameras?

That’d be my thoughts. Makes you realise how impressive the A1 is, 50mp with a readout time of 1/240sAh. The higher pixel count maybe coming into play?
