I'm at Castle Combe today and the heat haze is ridiculous at longer distances (400mm+). Most probably just that.....maybe.

Sadly no, back home and on my laptop, even the 70-200mm shots I thought were OK are disappointingly soft, not sure any used with the TC are usable. Strange as I've not had issues before :(

It's one corner of this site and a limited number of posters who've been involved in ill considered comments and it seems a shame to leave because of that. You are and will I'm sure remain very welcome and valued in this thread and others.

Some people here know my circumstances and this site helps me a lot and I'm pretty certain that most of the time you also get a lot from this place too.

I had a rare hour out today, took my GM5 so I could shoot one handed whilst pushing a wheelchair.

Mrs WW is attending a new course so I may get 2 hours out on Saturday for the next 7 weeks.

I have not read about any comments, but could the TC be faulty maybe the contacts need a clean ?

My wife and I were walking along the Bahnhofstrasse in Worgle. A group of young boys spotted my camera, approached us and politely asked if I would take their picture. My German isn't good enough to understand why they wanted this but my wife smiled and said "it's the hamster" and this lad produced his new friend. My wife asked where they wanted the picture sent but the boys just thanked us and went on their way.

Someone posted on a Farcebook wild camping group the other day about people being rude/arrogant etc I replied, "Just block them" That's why these things are in place. If there's someone on here (or anywhere else for that matter) that you aren't keen on or you feel they keep nagging/digging at you or you simply don't like their attitude or opinions then just block/ignore them and carry on smiling :)

I don't have anyone on ignore. But I've came close a few times :)

After having more of a look through my photos I honestly don't know what it is, some shots look OK but many don't. I feel as though subject distance is the key to it, whether it's just IQ that suffers or whether AF isn't great getting close to infinity focus I don't know. I'll do some tests and if I'm not happy I'll send it in to have it checked (y)

Whilst on holiday last month (it seems a year ago already!) me & my boy popped across to Portland for sunset & then Milky Way. I've not posted much lately, been a bit busy, work & stuff, wiped the PC & switched up to Windows 10 :ROFLMAO: and now on Lightroom/Photoshop CC (instead of LR5 & CS6) & have been playing with video stuff with the Drone!! Lots of learning!!

i. am getting the same Lately with the 200-600 sure its just heat haze and atmospherics ,

Were you using the lens hood by any chance?
I had the same problem with my 200-600.
Watched a YouTube video but can't for the life of me remember which one, that mentioned a little heat gets generated by the lens and builds up inside the lens hood and can't escape.
I tried shooting without the hood and the problem disappeared.
 
Any news on a release of the 85mm f1.2? I don’t currently have an 85mm as have been hoping for some time that Sony will release a gm that smaller, lighter and on par quality wise with canons.

Wow, that's Odd. I always use the lens hood and would never have considered it an issue :eek:

I recently discovered “sunshine” mode for the LCD screen, I can actually see the screen outside now :lol:
 
I found out today using the A7 III + 45mm Sammy it is NOT the weight. It is how I have been using it so total user error on my part, as in my jazz shots I only use the screen for shooting, so I tried both the screen and the eye today and nailed some of my shots. Plus My mate returned the OMD and said it was crap. Sadly he has massive hands lol Might use it again soon but today for me it's 10000% day.

I use the viewfinder 99.9% of the time, feels my comfortable and of course more sturdy that way.
