I've got the 24 GM too, fantastic bit of kit.

I had the 20mm and used it specifically to shoot one video, great lens also.

I bought the 20G for astro but I find it a bit too wide for much else in all honesty. Same reason I'm getting rid of the Voigtlander 21mm. The 24GM is even better for astro & just that little bit more useful (for me) for general photography.

I'd crop the bottom and the left side. There is a good shot in there but it doesn't quite work as presented. Good skills panning at 1/10th
Thanks, nandbytes said pretty much the same thing too (y) I keep trying to recreate something like this I took at Oulton Park but Donington doesn't seem to lend itself as well, plus the events I've been going to aren't anywhere near as well attended

There were three crows sat on a tree
And they were black as black can be
And they all flapped their wings and cried
Caw, caw, caw, Billy Magee Magar!

For those that do portraits what mode do you find works best for eye AF? Do you use real time tracking single point eye af, focus over the eye then compose the shot, or do you just use wide and let the camera find the eye, or something else?

It might not help but I have mine on Spot metering and it quickly locks on to the eye, that is for my jazz.

That’s confused me, what’s metering got to do with focussing? :p

Absolutely nothing at all.

Personally I use use real time tracking single point eye a.f, focus over the eye then compose the shot for most things. I use wide occasionally for very fast moving subjects.

Apart from being Rooks! :p
I have spoken to them and they have pointed out that, as corvus frugilegus, they are proud members of the fraternity of crows and if you'd like to discus it further, they can be found on the second tree from the left in the High Street. :naughty:

Which camera do you have a92? Tbf it shouldn’t matter a great deal the eye af is extremely reliable. Have had no issues with wide and letting the camera do its thing. I’d change it to single point when using in a busier scene though.

Thanks, I've booked a 'session day' and didn't want to spend the day working out which setting works best, I tend to shoot animals rather than people ;)

Yes it's the A9-II (y)

For animals I would probably use wide most often.

TBH I’ve had most success with the single point tracking. That being said every mode struggles with our dog, it either thinks she’s got no eyes or it thinks her ears are her eyes  :$

There was a time when it was cheaper to replace the dog, not so much these days, some dogs cost more than an A1 :ROFLMAO:
