Cheers Alan, just got back now and downloading the images, only took a few 1,590.
That's a few more than I managed with my SLR

Good stuff Toby. I haven't been on here for a while but your current kit list seems a mile away from that old Fuji and its orange peel files!Just discovered I can export frames from iMovie. It's only jpeg but is a fairly decent size.

@wookie6262 has one I believeAny sony g master 400mm f 2.8 owners here>
I stopped watching once they ranked A1 in 3rd place for handling. Personally I'd never buy a bloated body like R3/Z9. It's not really a like for like comparison.
p.s. not saying Sony is best at handling, far from it, I prefer bodies like R5 or Z7 for handling but I wouldn't go comparing them to R3/Z9 either.
and if anyone didn't have enough from Dpreview...Same for me.
I do understand that grips make it easier to shoot in portrait mode and they can accommodate more batteries but the added bulk and weight just isn't for me. I did have a Canon SLR with a grip but of course that was maybe a bit smaller than a gripped DSLR/Mirrorless and a fraction of the weight.
With big tele primes I'd just add on a grip. I don't walk around all the time with a big tele prime.I’d only want one of the bloated bodies if I shot with one of the big tele primes, otherwise the smaller bodies work much better for me.
The 70-180mm and 70-200mm GM II are enough to keep me at Sony. With big tele primes I'd just add on a grip. I don't walk around all the time with a big tele prime.
Most of the time biggest lens I will walk around with is a 70-200mm/2.8 and even that's now "only" 1KG.
For me I was looking for a "do-it-all" body and big bloated bodies don't work for walk around, travel, hiking etc for me.
Nikon doesn't have a body I'd buy at the moment on canon if I were to swap it'd be the R5.
must be like the 4th or 5th time posting videoQuestion on low light photography. I have the A9 it was initially bought for BIF but I find now I spend more time in woods so just wonder if the A7R IV maybe a better option as a lot of images are of small birds at distance. Would the sensor cause more noise problems in low light? Tanks. Russ.
One thing to remember is the more you crop the more it enlarges/accentuates the noiseQuestion on low light photography. So when are you guying the GMii?The 70-180mm and 70-200mm GM II are enough to keep me at Sony.
I agree, I would rather just add a grip if using the big lenses but it was hypothetical if a tele prime was what I used predominantly![]()
So when are you guying the GMii?
Indeed, if I was mostly using a heavy tele prime I might have preferred Z9/R3 etc. But then again there isn't a native tele prime for Z9 yet, so just R3 I guess![]()
I’ll buy it when the price comes down/there’s an offer on. £2.6k is too rich for meSo when are you guying the GMii?

Does indeed but I didn't think it was available yet?The Nikkor 400mm f/2.8 Z with built in t/c looks tasty

Couple of very nice candid Jazz captures Dave.
"Good to see you back shooting this sort of thing again. I particularly used to like the kinda faded look you used to put on these type of shots a time or two ago"
Apparently there is an eye a.f issue with the A7iv as in a lot of people are having problems with it not being accurate.
Maybe a bad batch?
My missus has one and hers seems fine, a mate of mine bought 2 a few weeks ago and both of his have the problem.
Might be best to avoid these for now and see how this develops. Possible recall for repair / firmware update etc.
It seems to be with close up portraits with wide open lens. creating very shallow dof. , its focussiing on eyebrows instead of the eye itself
