Hello all,
I am in search for a wide angle full frame sony lens for my A7R II. I have been looking at the Sony 20mm f1.8 and the more pricey 24mm f1.4 G-Master. Is the faster lens of the G-Master wortn the extra money?
Anyone's opinions on their personal experiences with these lenses will be appreciated. Aswell as any other suggestions for a wide angle lens.
There is a samyang 18mm f2.8 at ffordes for £199
If your push them a little they'll go free delivery too.

Nice. I always struggle with woodlands.

Much appreciate you taking the trouble to comment, George. Yes, I favour the mono also. It’s only a couple of miles from home, but it’s the first time I’ve visited. It begs different weather conditions, and even a night shoot. Two very nice landscape style shots Stephen, liking both of these very much, particularly the presentation of the mono image.
George.

Really like the composition on the last, with the lead-in lines of the road, and the colours.Don't know if these are any good composition or processing wise, but three photos I took the other day while at the Parkland Walk with the a6600 and Sigma 16mm.

Jealous... the trees here are no where as uniformly changed as that!
Trees here are starting to turn in places here (although some are just going straight to brown), but the weather's been nothing short of miserableJealous... the trees here are no where as uniformly changed as that!
Also still lots of green here.
That's why I try to get the golden hours. I don't mind 'gloomy' but it's been so bad here (on the times I've had available) it's just not worth the trouble. If it's too sunny it ruins the colours too lol
Though with some clever use of polariser you can make it work.
Yeah it's pretty dire. Yesterday was workable though had a nice day outThat's why I try to get the golden hours. I don't mind 'gloomy' but it's been so bad here (on the times I've had available) it's just not worth the trouble.

We had one of them once. It went away, though. What is that at the top half of the second photo? It's blue? I don't recognise that at all....![]()
Nice though![]()
My first go at light trails. Was good fun and noone around to try and mug me and steal my gear which I'm always conscious of. I think they turned out quite nice. I'm not good with heights so walking along the bridge over the motorway made me quite nervous.

very nice, especially like the second one.
the symmetry with the light bursts, red and white trails works nicely.
Thanks nandbytes. I've seen videos of how to do it but thought I wouldn't be able to get it to look good, but it was easier than I expected. 30 second exposures did the trick, and to take the shots so as not to touch the camera apart from focusing, I used the imaging edge app which works fantastic! You'll notice on the second image a rainbow blob on the closest starburst. A spot of moisture or something got on the lens.
Yes i did notice it, but you should be able to clone it out if you are careful
Very nice, something I have wanted to try for a long time. Got Englands highest motorway near to try it off a very high bridge. My first go at light trails.
