With regards to the D750 the procrastination was down to two main things. Firstly I wasn’t very experienced and didn’t know what I wanted and how to get the best out of things and secondly was worried about using an OVF ( and not being able to see the final image as I had the A77-2 if you remember? (How times change ;)) This time around I’m just a bit ‘meh’ about it all, which I know sounds a bit odd when we’re talking such cracking equipment.

Ergonomically A77M2 is my favourite body. That tilt screen was awesome and it was built like a tank. Shot under a waterfall at one point with the 16-50mm/2.8 which was an awesome lens.

Sony need to get these people on e-mount bodies design team :D

Yeah, that was a great combo. Should've dumped the a7r2 sensor in that body. Idiots.

Because A mount wasn't differentiating them or making enough money. All the time they were making A mount cameras they were trailing Canikon, whereas ML gave them a long lead and the differentiation they were seeking, and the other makes can only run to catch up.

I know that, I wasn't talking about keeping A mount but putting e mount into the A style body as an option. Could've made it clearer :)
 
A couple of my older NP-FZ100 batteries are no longer showing in camera at 100% when fully charged.

Anyone else had this?

I guess it's just because they have been used a fair bit, have a feeling my Nikon batteries lasted longer though before showing any issues.

Perhaps leave on the charger for an extra hour after they are full?

Not sure what that was a response, too, but if it's short battery life on these Sony mirrorless, then that's something I might try.

You may be blocking the user....

I guess it's just because they have been used a fair bit, have a feeling my Nikon batteries lasted longer though before showing any issues.
 
I have a 3rd party battery which only went to 99% when being charged via USB in camera but it goes to 100% with my new external charger.

It's normal to drop to a trickle charge unless the charger is 'intelligent' in which case it may attempt to cycle the battery a little if left connected for a long time.

I would have thought the same.

Have you tried charging the battery via. the camera too? just to see if its a battery issue or a charger issue.

All my batteries from initial batches are fine so far and also possibly older than yours (since you will have bought your backup for a backup for a back up!).
 
Thanks (I do have a particular forumite on ignore). My problem is - one battery (now marked by pen) shows 93% or so after full recharge, but in general, these fully charged batteries do seem to deplete quickly. And I don't even use Pre AF and very rarely use burst mode and never use video. I have two chargers (one Sony one third party), so I will switch them around this weekend.

That said, when I went shopping for an A6500, almost every used advert I found had 3 or 4 batteries included, so I think I just have to deal with it.
 
I've had my original battery since I got it with the camera which was I think in December 2013. Two batteries is all I've ever needed.

Yes have tried that too.

Did a bit of googling there and apparently this is common with some advising to cycle the battery a couple of times, it is something to do with the chip in the battery rather than a battery issue supposedly.
 
I went out yesterday with three batteries. Took 250 shots in all (over about 4 hours) and used all of one battery and about half of the other. Nowhere near the claims of 340 (or so) shots.

I always switch the camera off after a group of shots. Maybe I should just let it fall asleep on its own accord?

well depends on the type of shots. Long exposures and lots of bursting eats the batteries a lot quicker than snaps here and there. I have taken close to 1000 shots on one of those smaller batteries in the past and sometimes no more than couple hundred. Also of course depends on the health of the battery.

Real time AF on A9 should be plenty good enough. If I remember there’s a video on YouTube showing it during boxing. Very impressive.

I've nearly bought a Tokina 20mm f2 a few times over the last week, I was going to buy it but when I got time to sit down at my pc it'd timed out. I also nearly ordered a Voigtlander 50mm f2 but I keep reminding myself it's just gas and change my mind and don't bother. Really I should be selling the stuff I'm not using.

She's just gone through the pictures and picked the ones she's going to send off to her family and surprisingly she went for the f1.4 shots rather than f5.6/8 ones. I asked her why and she said "They look nicer."

Yesterday we went to a local pond/woodland area that we normally go to but I want a nice sunrise shot there while the sun is further south in winter! Dull, then it rained a little - I slipped my waterproof over trousers on & wellies for it because it's long grasses and I'm so glad I did! Managed a pano but not what I wanted. Then we dropped down into Wells. Almost turned around but it started to clear whilst having a wander around & passing a hour or two. Managed a few tourist style images but not convinced..... Then we headed on to Glastonbury & the Tor. Glastonbury didn't appeal at all, nowhere near as nice as Wells. But the other half has been on about the Tor for ages & ages. Covered a few miles walking around & up & as we got up there a patch of rain passed to the east & then it pretty much cleared. So glad we done the route "back to front" as meant we were coming down the main path whilst the sun was lighting everything up :) I then ventured up another hill for a view across where I already knew I would need a longer lens than 85mm......

Still, all in all not a bad day out & glad we stuck it out through the not so nice morning weather :)

^^^ See my previous post. I don't often get GAS (okay, I did with the 40/1.2!) but I am after something longer than 85mm with reasonable size/weight to it.

Currently looking into the FE70-200/4 & adapted EF70-200/4 with regard cost, size, weight, filters, etc
