The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

I'd imagine IQ would be very similar between them both - They both sit at a similar level so I'd expect them both to be good performers.

Just the difficult bit of sorting in what order you rate aperture/focal range/size/weight/price ;)

Cheers Lee. Yep, that's the decision. One minute I think that the smaller, lighter, faster Tamron is what I need... then I think that the wider FL would be more useful, particularly as I have faster primes if needed. Then there's the £400 price difference ….

Have you got anything wider than 28mm Barry?

Yep.

Full line up at the moment will be

Zooms:
Sony 16-35 f4
Tamron 28-75 f2.8
Sony 70-200 f4

Primes:
Samyang 24mm f2.8
Samyang 35mm f2.8
Sigma 35mm f1.4
Sony 55mm F1.8
Sony 85mm f1.8
Canon fd135mm f2.5

 Er … yep! Pretty comprehensive line-up! :D

Close the purse … and stick a lock on it! :D

Are you trying to keep out of double figures? You couldn't get much closer ;) :)

Only made it to 9 because I included an FD Canon lens (which does get used) did't include the other manual lenses :ROFLMAO: At least one of the Samyangs will probably go soon though.

I don't count some of my lenses. Mainly because they are Yashica C/Y mount so they group in with my Yashica FX3 not my Sony huddle :) :ROFLMAO:

Actually, I probably have just as many C/Y mount lenses as I do Sony E

Here's the Facebook group and a video showing the issue with slot one, but slot 2 working OK. I'm sorry, but I can't get the video outside of Facebook. If you join the group then you can see the video and how the discussion goes, including at least one other person that has the same issue... I hope that you get sorted out soon …

Many things are missed here that are included in those groups!

It was from SRS on ebay so UK stock and warranty. Think I got the last one though.

thanks - was very tempted by the Zeiss Batis 25mm for £804 (then minus £135 cashback) but had a stinge attack and went for the Samyang 24mm f2.8 for £195 instead - also from SRS :)

Nice, what made you go for the Samyang 24mm?

I'm really pleasantly surprised with the Zeiss 55. Wasn't expecting too much of it but I guess it's expensive for a 1.8. It really maintains a lot of contrast in backlit situations, like the second shot here and it's sharp with good bokeh. Feels like a toy compared to the 1.4's but gives me something I've not had before in a compact little walkabout.

She might never grow tall enough to reach it :-)

Shooting wide-open with this combo is a doddle, so many keepers!

I didn't gel with it at all. It was my first FE lens I picked up in 2015 (maybe '14) when I bought the A7. Nothing wrong with it. Focused well, certainly sharp enough, great performance.... Just found it a little long.

Great images :)

Cheers. I quite like the working distance and had a 58 for the Nikon. I don’t find any real difference between 50 and a few mm more, you get used to it. Fills the middle bit ok for me but I’m generally a 35/85 shooter.

With the delivery date quote of 8-10th January it's probably an import too but without Panamoz's 3 yr warranty. The seller is Technolove and not Amazon. Amazons price is 1849
Ah, it was Prime delivery 2 days ago and fulfilled by Amazon and priced at £1770. :(
