The rumor site reports that Sony will add a top lcd to future models if customers want it.
Who wants one?
I couldn't give a flying. I haven't had one since my Canon days and I don't miss them.
Here is a Nikon Optical Engineer explaining the need and consequences of the larger lens mount and shorter flange distance with Nikon mirrorless cameras. While he may not be unbiased, he is an Optical Engineer.Time will tell whether Nikon can do things with this larger mount and shorter flange distance that others may not be able to do. Btw, I was very impressed by his drawing in reverse as well as his presentation.

Top lcd? Nope.
I'd like to see a FF sensor in a A6000 body instead.

Top LCD - No thanks, Id rather have 2x top dials like an A9.
The 2nd dial looks a bit unfinished on teh A9 with half of it empty!
Ken Rockwell might not have biblical powers but at least HE can take a sharp photograph with an A9/FE28mm! lolKen Rockwell. Jesus.
Ergo everything for sale in the classifieds is no good then?Swiss Toni, the lens is sooooo good that you're selling it
So at a glance being able to see camera settings, amount of shots left on the cards and battery info for example - well that’s really helpful info imo and well worth a flying one.
The original A7 bodies no, the current ones yes.Do you find A7 bodies too big?
Or just find the A7 series too expensive?
What would be cool if you could customise those empty banks

LCD top screen dial, you can program them, display what you want.
Didn't say it wasn'tEven the original body is bigger than the A6000.
I think you're in the minority there.

If they're going to do something with the display I'd rather it'd be they actually got touch screen operation properly implemented than adding another one.

They are only slightly biggerThe original A7 bodies no, the current ones yes.
Somewhat weird twist to this, just got an email from Wex saying that the new one is now in stock! Wex have agreed to take the used one back and credit me for the full amount against the new one. My wife thinks I'm nuts but there you go, can't argue with that!![]()
Bought yesterday from Wex "opened box used", good saving on new, it's in mint condition.

Nikon changed the mount because they had to reduce the flange distance. Once you remove the mirror there is no real benefit in having such a large flange.
And while they were at it they felt that a large mount diameter was a good thing. Canon obviously felt the same since they made yet another mount!
No they will credit him OB price wat he paid I assumeSo they are giving you a new one at OB cost?
