Some really stunning shots on there. Looks like a lovely lens but I doubt I'll ever own one.
It's made for laying on grass with some cheap trainers?

I've not had the bracketed wb yet, have had bracketed exposures but spotted that one pretty quick, I have been tempted to build a little ring around it out of surgu to try and prevent these accidental knocksIt changes all manner of settings on me lol. Bracketed WB, timers and all sorts

Actually yes u do. last week i diddnt use it and was fne but after using it today, its a HUGE difference. i can compose my shots far better and can shoot all day as i feel no weight at allYou don’t need a monopod for that setup surelyhehe
So macro for Sony is the Sony 90mm the only option?
And the 50mm oneSo macro for Sony is the Sony 90mm the only option?

The one I had barely focused on my A7, it was all over the place.Yes but isn’t the 50mm macro the equivalent to a pile of fresh hot steamy cow dung?![]()

When out shooting today in the football pitches there were a few people using Sony A7's as well!
Sony is definetly getting more popular and recognisable here in London at least.
I have seen many out on the streets of central london too.

It will take a good few years at the very least before we start seeing them at major events.
Sony need to announce the FE 300mm, 500mm and 600mm G Master lenses to start with, the Sony A9 II should address more shortcomings of the Sony bodies etc.
The Sony A9 is the first model in the A9 series, things can only get better.
It is quite interesting how Sony will further open the gap on Nikon/Canon with the A9II. As surely the A9II will come before any new revisions of the Z series or the EOS R.
And the amazing Laowa 60mm f2.8 ultra (2X) macro lens. And the well regarded macro classic the Tamron 90mm. Need we go on?So macro for Sony is the Sony 90mm the only option?

Unless you really need native af for your macro work you could save a few hundred quid by adapting glass.
The money doesn’t matter to be honest. I don’t think I could be bothered with adapting lenses.
90mm then. Fill your boots rich boy
Sorry I didn’t mean it like that. It’s a work purchase so the money doesn’t really matter.

I’ve not used the 90mm but had a look in the shop. Looks very nice and gets good reviews. Sony’s 50mm looks like the budget option and I’ve no idea what the new sigma is like - but 70mm is a bit short for macro imo.
So this weekend I picked up my new 400mm 2.8 and managed to get a small test with the A9 down at Dubai Autodrome.
Initial thoughts - wow, it's light.
Been shooting with the A9 since June last year and quickly fell in love with the system, but was waiting desperately some something to replace my Nikon 400/600mm. This really is a breath of fresh air, weighing less than half of my 600mm f/4 and considerably lighter than my old D4s.
The focus is fast, supremely fast, and so accurate. I don't tend to shoot more than 10fps, however I did some stuff at 20fps to see how well it tracked at such fast frame rates and it really didn't miss a beat. Tracking is fast and accurate, even with the cars travelling towards the camera and with headlights on.
I can't wait now for the season to kick back off in October and it will be so much easier to walk around Yes and Dubai during the 12h/24h races and F1 over three days without killing myself so much.
Now, Sony, all I want is a 200mm 1.8 or 2.0 to complete my perfect lens lineup.
Not got anything worthwhile to share yet (everything I was shooting was for Sony), but will share samples in due time.

Watching that guy from Ninedots doing his A7iii review, lots of useful info if you haven’t checked it out. Mainly aimed at wedding photographers though.
