The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

One of the most oppressive experiences of heat I’ve experienced in 68years period. Worse than 76

Mrs WW said yesterday that it was uncomfortably hot and humid and more so than Thailand :D and this is someone who kept her fleece on in the tropical dome at the Eden Centre :D Personally I think Thailand is worse as there's no relief from the humidity there but central Kazakhstan is the hottest I've experienced.

PS.
It's warm and humid here but we've just had a big thunder storm.

probably too early but has any seen any comparison reviews between the sigma art 135mm f1.8 vs the 105mm f1.4?

Buy a cheap old vintage tele prime with an adapter.

Yeah, the FD 300/5.6 I just got would be ideal - or similar. Because nobody ever designed a terrible 300 prime it's sharp right off the bat, and with perfectly useable high ISOs of the Sony sensor I personally love the light weight and don't miss the extra stop or two of light gathering at all.

I'd happily use even an ISO 20,000 shot after passing it through DXO prime, and my 300/5.6 was £100 (I shopped around for the best one I could find, that price is for near-mint).

my EF 100-300mm was £10 :D

Buy the A7III with kit lens from amazon, sell the kit lens and you have the camera for under 1800. UK stock at Grey price :)

Says the person who bought an A7r3 (because its supposedly the best) that wants to trade for an A9.
It is the best and I am not actively looking for an A9. If someone offered me a swap I'd consider it just to try it out for a little while.

Chances of seeing the moon tonight are slim so snapped just before bed last night/this morning.

Where did you get it from

managed to come to my senses and thought back to what my original plan was. i have no real need for an a9 - it would just be an expensive nice to have.
i'll keep the a7rii and spend some money on glass. the a7r3 is nearing £2k grey now. thats about my limit for a camera body.

I have just ordered the A7r3 for £2180

Terrible weather now
Just got back from the Peak District - hoped for either great light through the stormy clouds or a glimpse of the blood moon. Got neither - but you have to be in it to win it! :)

It was lovely sat up there though - just the right temperature with a cooling breeze.

No moon here but an amazing thunderstorm, I've never seen one like it in the UK, ever! Constant lightning and thunder. If we'd been alone I'd have tried to capture some lightening shots but we had company so I had to be good.

No moon here either, but we haven't even got a thunderstorm
