I'm off work on long term sick, so I have plenty of time on my hands.... plus I just like to see everyone's take on the camera and any hints and tips...

... plus watching all the praise for the camera makes me feel good about my purchase (when I hopefully get a good copy, of course)! :(

They’re all good at it tbh. Watch enough A7iii videos and you want one, watch enough D850 videos and you want one, watch enough Canon 5d4 videos and you want one, watch.......... ;)

DPR details a firmware update for the A7RIII which enables reduced delay between frames when pixel shifting...

"Sony has released new firmware for its a7R lll camera to insert a new option for Pixel Shift Multi Shooting that reduces the delay between frames to 0.5 sec. Firmware v1.10 adds the 0.5 sec delay setting to the menu so users can halve the current shortest time between frames taken with the camera in Pixel Shift Shooting mode. Previously, delays of 1-30 seconds could be selected. The move will reduce the total amount of time the pixel shift mode takes to record the images it needs, so perhaps will also reduce the risk of movement in the subject."

To be fair, although i do watch a lot of review videos, there are only 3 or 4 reviewers that I take seriously and take their comments into consideration. These are Dustin Abbot, The Camera Store before Chris and Jordan left, and Toby from Photorec. The rest are allegedly "shills" according to the Angry Photographer!

I think I read some worrying things about him somewhere, I think I read that he'd been caught passing off another photographers picture or pictures as his own and that claims he'd made about his photographic past were rather dubious. If even a percentage of that is true I don't think he has any credibility beyond car crash TV value. But that might be enough :D

Yep, he was caught out a couple of years ago allegedly doing just that. He's a Fuji and Nikon fanboy but his rants are entertaining sometimes though.
 
I watched the vid in which he did a shoot with Jason Lanier and I didn't think his pictures (the angry guys) were anything special.

Yeah, he was trashing Lanier about selling out to Sony and Lanier made a counter video rebutting all of Angrys claims. He also challenged him to go on a shoot with him. On that shoot, Angry used his Fuji GFX and the results were, let's just say, not reflective of the capabilities of a modern medium format camera....
 
Isn't Angry Photographer ill though? I dismissed a lot of his rants as I assumed it was down to his illness. :rolleyes:

I will watch it tonight ..... I think Lanier is ok.... Angry Photography is just not right in the head. :o

I don't mind Kai, although I find some of his antics childish.... Fair enough when he first started out as it was different and mildly entertaining, but he's like 30 now, isn't he? Time to drop all that and deliver straight, informative content.

Dustin Abbott is Toby's (Snerkler) hero.... In fact I believe that they both get their lab coats laundered at the same dry cleaners....

Gordon Laing is pretty good too.

Watching that my first thoughts were what a shame all this is and also how strange it all is. These are grown men conducting a very public dummy spitting match but then I started to warm to Jason Laniers's point of view as these guys live in the public eye on the net and the angry guy is hurting Jason Lanier's business and potentially upsetting his family with the on line content and comments for his children to see. I'd have thought that Jason's best course would be to keep quiet and hand all this over to his legal team but I suppose considering the on line world these guys live in it's understandable that Jason has responded on line in this way
