I too dont know many who owns a 70-200 f2.8 lens let alone a 300/400 prime!

You cant even go and try these sorts of lenses in places like park camera's or jessops.

they are many wildlife and sports toggers but they dont represent the whole population of pro photographers.

So to be specific, the lenses for wildlife and sport is lacking

I guess in the interim individuals who want fast 300mm + primes will either wait until Sony has released the lenses and stick with their current kit, or use the FE 100-400mm GM.

yes to be specific until a range of faster long primes are released the pro sports shooters won't be using sony gear.

but re the comment about a 70-200 f2.8 - of course park and jessops have these. they are commonly used lens for all sorts -particularly weddings and portraits. i certainly know more people who have had one than not.

It seems they ship in their own outer box from Sony.... so retailer doesn't have to second skin it. Manufacture date is Mar 2018, oldest date Ive seen is Dec 18.

I remember my 80-200 HS APO, you could feel the torque through the lens, nuts.

Walkabout, sure but what I do with it will be more portraits which is a couple of hours shoot. Size is pretty much a non-issue.
