The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

I’ve not got one yet. My mate ordered one after I advised him about the wilko deal. He pulled the trigger on deadline day and paid in full. I don’t know where that leaves him in the queue. I met up with him Saturday and he said he was going to cancel as played with an r3 and wasn’t impressed with the build and feel of it ( he shoots d810 and d700).

I asked if he would be happy for me to give him the money and take the order which he agreed to. Offer is there.

Not handled D810 or D700 but the Sony’s felt better built than my D750 (well A7R3 and A73 anyway!). Are you taking up the offer?

Well Iv'e been and gone and done it, first time ever preordered anything, A7III with grip from Park Cameras saved about £125 ordering together
I thought of selling my A7R2 but there seems to be so many for sale at the moment (MPB have 26) I didn't think I would get much for it so I will keep it
I think they will make a very good pairing, A7III when I need the focus speed and A7R2 when I want the 42mp, just got to hope I don't have to wait to long:D

I’m still undecided. Clock is ticking.

My missing XH1 looks like its actually going to show up tomorrow, got the returns form and label ready just to stick on the box... scared to open it!

Ouch, but then the RRP over here is way above what the Canon, Nikon mount ones actually sell for now.

Yeah, but I can't see the price coming down for a while in the UK, though. Guess we'll see what price it comes up at grey.

This the Open Box one?

Yeah, finally seems to have been found in the depths of a Parcelforce Warehouse...

Yeah, if the usual "change the $ for a £" trick happens then these are going to look quite pricey.

There is one really annoyance, which doesn't matter to much to me…the banding in video inside my house. I have LED lights in the house and the banding is TERRIBLE. I know it's not the camera because if I point the camera to outside the street it looks perfect, but continue the video to inside the house causes banding.

I googled this, it suggests shooting 60fps, but I can't find 60fps??? only 25 and 50.

Annoying.

I don't think anyone will mind you posting in this thread no matter what camera you own... You're one of "us" and we'd miss you if you didn't call in here and post :D

And I am still a sony owner

YaY!

Got my new old Minolta 35mm f2.8 today and it's in good condition, not quite as good as the last one but it's ok. Got a hood with it too.

:D

Yeah but noisy af and rubbish for video.... chatter. It's a dslr lens.... I think people may be forgetting that... still a great lens though.

Depends on how noisy it is, the samyang isn't really quiet either. Zeiss is definitely better for video with its clickless aperture and quiet fast AF.

Lightroom now have updated (just in time) to recognise A73 RAW files.

Yup, but the sigma is very noisy in continuous, sounds like the elements are vibrating apart. Zeiss is best for video.

True. Zeiss trumps it here for sure.

The 35 samyang definitely makes some noise. Nothing like the 50mm though.

Luckily I don’t really do video.
