It looks details, the bird looks soft to touch because of how beautiful the detail is ... not that it looks soft - and you can't see that it's not soft you need to check your viewer..

getting back to the PP and comp winners, ok if you want to use pp as an art form well and good.
personally a photo to me is a frame of my life which I can look back on as an enrichment of ithe story or play if you like.so I have
to keep reminding myself thats the important point not how technically brilliant it is or in my case isn't,but that it was a moment to cherish.

That's pretty much how I look at it but I'll very often clone out rubbish and the odd passer by/photobomber and sometimes I move away from reality a bit with Nik Filters.
 
Considering pulling the trigger on the Sony A7 III :o
