The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

If you have 300k shooting Leica over 6 years. With this new set up you are going to double that in 2018.

Not had leica that long. Sl for over a year, M10 for maybe six months Q for at least two years.. All at a guess

Had d750, 5dm3, 5dm2 and a580 as well as rich gr, Olympus em1, rx1r and others I forget

But your point remains..

I have 16tb external USB drive and a nas box I intend to make up to 48tb with 4x12

I only keep the best shots, delete the rest.
Had a mass cull last year reducing around 15-16k images down to around 12k.
If i kept my best shots i’d probably have less than a hundred, maybe time to give up.my eyes have been truly opened tonight..

I know I’m very pro Sony but I’ve always liked the idea of a Nikon D500 paired with the Nikkor 17-55mm f2.8 :D

Never tuned a lens on my D750. Maybe that explains things :ROFLMAO:

I agree, used to drive me nuts! :D
So you would tune your lens and it would be spot on at a certain distance but then the tune value threw off the accuracy at longer / shorter distances etc.

Then you weren't even sure if the tuning was actually correct as sometimes it was as accurate when the AF fine tune was switched off

I think it's down to the nature of the AF system with dslrs and there is always a margin of guesswork at really wide apertures. It really drove me bonkers. Never so much of an issue with f/2.8 lenses though

That sounds ludicrously expensive :)

I will however rebuild my pc to Incorporate more internal hard drives. I can only fit two ssds as it is.
Get yourself a RAID 5 (5 disk) NAS and then upload to a cloud like Amazon Glacier ;)

Didn't Nikon come up with some "auto-tuning" feature that basically makes the whole process simple and easy. Apparently you can use it in the field also...

Yep, called ‘eyes’.

Damn these lazy Sony owners, they will want auto shutter release next

Does anyone here do video on there Sony? I what gimbal do you use?

Looking out for a light traveller one that can cater max weight of a a7r3 attached with a 85mm batis.

You lot should see my beast.. I got like 4 ssd and about 4 spinning hdd. Then I have my server pc that has another 5/6 spinning hdd.
Bet that generates some right heat and noise :o
Do you have put on ear-muffs prior to doing post-processing work? :D lol

Auto-Shutter will come eventually :D lol

Chuck camera on auto ball head with auto wheeled base at wedding. Press start. Pop to pub for couple of hours. Job done. :D

On a side note, we still need more A7iii pictures, we are lacking a variety of them in this thread.

Stop talking and praising your new toys and go show us potential buyers what we would be getting for our cash!!

I spent an absolute fortune setting up the video production business (mainly wedding films)

Starting it this year with an aim to be shooting more video than stills going forward.

Switching to Sony was also part of the plan with video as they're incredibly good at it. Shot a wedding not long ago with a videographer shooting Sony and I knew from then my days of DSLR were over

My missus ain't happy about the electricity bill that's for sure...

I try not to use it much. Especially my server pc which mostly off. Only turn it on when doing backups

Have u travelled abroad with the crane 2? I how fast and easy is it to setup the balance for the camera?
I haven't travelled abroad with it. I can balance it with any lens in under 1 minute.

At first it can be abit daunting if your first few attempts at balancing doesn't work. Though it seriously easy and fast to do. The crane 2 is a fantastic piece of kit
