Well I still stuck on this button on the lens. The one one 85mm 1.8 is programmable isn’t it.
 
Just before I jump for the D750 I priced up an A7iii before, just can't do it.

Based it on 2 primes, general f4 zoom and a wide angle, here are sums:

Some not directly comparable and quality there may be some differences but these are what I would get for each system.

D750 + 24-120 (£1385) +18-35mm (£385) + 50mm 1.8 (£100 ish) + 85mm (£275 ish) = £2145

A7iii (£2000) + 24-105 (£1070 amazon deal) + 16-35mm (£650 ish) + (50mm 1.8 (£150 ish) + 85mm (400 ish) = £4270

Just cannot justify it when saving for a house!

I guess that was probably on the following as these were on offer during the last Sony cash back offer which were reduce by £150..

Sony FE 24-70mm f2.8 GM
Sony FE 70-200mm f2.8 GM
Sony FE 85mm f1.4 GM
 
What I am tempted to get is the Canon 35/2.0. That might be the perfect size vs aperture and even cost for the 35mm.

Reason I can’t go for the A9. Can’t even afford the body lol! But even A7iii plus lenses came in at me spending 3K.

I have the current new prices as follows:-

D750 + 24-120mm VR £2229
18-35mm £619
50mm f1.8 £189
85mm f1.8 £429
Total = £3466

Sony A7 III £1999
24-105mm f4 £1199
16-35mm f4 £1049
50mm f1.8 £279
85mm f1.8 £561
Total = £5087

So a difference of £1621. :)

However some of the Sony lenses are a head in terms of IQ/sharpness and the A7 III does offer mirrorless advantages etc

Has anyone sent their A9 back to Sony for the recall? If so, how long did they keep the camera?

Is it sent back direct to Sony or the shop where purchased.

... and finally did they do any firmware updates while it was in?

So many questions, but thanks!

Oh and another one - any news on a release date for the Tamron 28-75 and the Sony 24-105mm?

I got my dealership to send it back to Sony for the repair, took about a week if that.
I believe the last firmware was in Jan Ver 2.00 but I’d have to check.

Not sure about the release date for the Tamron 28-75mm but they said it was close to release.

Sony 24-105mm f4 is out I believe, just that stocks are low due to high demand.
 
That on top of what I got for all my Nikon stuff

Well, I have been offered the D750 + 24-120mm for £1385
I have just bought the 18-35mm for £385
the others are used prices

All yours are new prices - I don't buy lenses new :)

Well guys I don’t care I am happy so that what counts. Mirrorless is fab every part of the af area is sharp etc.
