Mirrorless offers far better video than dslr because of things like that and the quality and tech they have.

Ibis is another thing that's great. And makes a difference.

Translation for @twist if you're not prepared to pay through the nose for the latest equipment like Jonney, regardless of the actual quality of your output, then you might as well just use a mobile phone.

You don't need to convince people to buy Leica, Leica seem to do a pretty good job selling non-cutting edge technology in a brick of a body aka SL :D lol ;)

Umm not quite.

The GH5 and other mirrorless offerings offer similar/better video quality then the sony for cheaper?!?!?!

Twist already has a camera that he is happy about, he's very clued up on other cameras - I trust he has made the right choice that suits him.

Sure, so why is he keep toying with the idea of switching?

It was only a few weeks ago he had a a7r2 on order!

And in this thread he said he would love an A9 if it was cheaper!!!

Do you see me going do the d750 or fuji thread toying with the idea of buying one?

Im happy with sony and canon :)
 
The funny thing is I do also use my mobile for video.

Those things are fairly important but ibis is crap compared to a gimbal. 4k, well as said loads of options there if I really needed it.

Yes that's my point. Lots of options for video that offer more features and quality than the nikon.

Maybe you should stop looking at Sony and other brands and get a gimble for your video work

When am I always toying with it, I spent 1 1/2 years away from this place and used a 10 yr old camera that did everything I needed during that time. I did have the A7r2 on order, I did loads of research and Ive already summed up why I cancelled the order.

I would love the A9, but I don't need it, whats the point, the D750 will return the same results in my case.

No, we just see you buying every new release. I really don't give a flying what you use, I buy into any brand I don't restrict myself.

Should have been clearer an 85mm 1.8 batty boy. Who the f*** thinks of these names for lenses absolute cretins.
I'll let you know if it arrives in 2 weeks or so. $735 delivered!! So I am a little sceptical. But I've paid via standard PayPal and $500 upfront and the rest upon delivery. But yes it was damn cheap I had to take the gamble.

Zeiss Batis 85mm f1.8 is a great lens..... :)

I must admit I did prefer the XT2 EVF it seemed better. Sony seem to be a little lackluster much like Apple when it comes to change. And when they finally do its always a little late. But I'm liking the camera on the whole. And maybe I will take a photo or two when I get a lens and see if it actually is any good lol
 
@Jonney I've never said I won't buy the a7r2, there will be a time... just not today. If I pick up all the stuff for the right money then I'll try it but I'm not buying to lose if it doesn't work out.

My days of buying gear for the sake of it are over. I've owned 45+ cameras over the last few years for the fun of it. Can't be bothered with the process anymore.

Yeah a lot of the concerns tend to go away once the files are viewed on the cpu

Well I'm not quite up there with camera's but feel that. At the price I paid it was worth the punt as I won't lose. I've made some money on my Nikon gear so it's a win win for me currently. I say that without having used the camera properly but I am sure i will.
