The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

So we all know woof woof will be digging deep and going on a massive black Friday binge. Anyone else getting any new toys?
After lugging my gear into the city this morning I'm thinking a roller bag of some sort would be beneficial.
I keep looking but found nothing with a Sony badge that looks tempting I think they are keeping powder dry for the A7 iii

Bet @rookies is really torn today :fuji::sony::fuji::sony: etc more entertaining than eastenders

My gas has gone. Can't believe it. Not followed and read camera related gear for ages! I'm cured! (until the a9 comes out..)

Lol

I am staying as been hovering over a 25mm batis

Don't just hover over it, buy it. 25mm Batis is easily the best lens (and most used) I have ever owned although the 85mm is a close second. Would love the 18mm as well...... anyone on here got it?

No. Back when I had DSLR's I had a Sigma 12-24mm and a 20mm f1.8. They are both very nice lenses (the 12-24mm is an outstanding lens) but are expensive lenses for FF so these days I have a 9-18mm for MFT which has to do as my wide angle lens.

How well does the Canon 24-70 do on the Sony please looks like it's the mk1 lens not sure with adapter it is though
Mk2 lens. Works brilliant on the new metabones firmware!

Wanted to use It for this photo walk without changing lenses. Pointless getting the g master equivalent if you already have the Canon

That 18mm looks nice nearly £1200 is a fair wedge of cash :)

Thank you thought probably mk1 as non is just looked at mk4 adapter £300 rough used mk2 lens £1100 plus used so agree if you have the canon glass already the Sony gm would not add much :ty:

I am working with Sony A7R II + Sigma MC-11 + Canon EF 24-70 F/2.8L II and I can also confirm that it works and deliver. I am very happy with the results, my clients as well.
Sometimes in a low light I have problems with fast focusing or it hunts, but this could be solved easy with some light source.
It does not have the all AF options using the MC-11, but I am happy with AF-S.
I believe that if you already have this lens, not much point to sell and get the GM, especially as I heard some talks that the 70mm is not the strong side of the GM ( I did not check it, but I use the 70mm long end quite often)

Example of this combo (bear in mind that it could be done better, this time I had only two flashes bouncing the ceiling):

If you open it on flikr (using computer) press "L" + F11 for full screen

Hopefully whatever way Andrew goes we can then devote this thread to Sony chat and the Fuji owners can please post in their own thread.

The whole posting about Fuji's in this thread time after time after soddin time is getting dull and off putting.

Ok no more Fuji photo's in this thread...... ;)

So

Following my decision to sell my 70-200mm it is infact now sold and my only lens for now is the 16-35mm f4

My maximum focal length will be 70mm trying to decide buy something like a 24-70 or go for the 7r2 and crop more. Very rare I would need more than 50-55mm I still quite like the idea of the contaz 45mm pancake just a little reluctant going for an adapter

One other option is use the apsc mode with my 16-35mm only thing is if I do that my guess is the result may be worse than just cropping

No gas spending off me yet :)

The 24-70mm f2.8 G Master is EPIC but then so is the Sony A7RII....... do you have the A7II at present?
I feel the G Master lenses are really suited for the high megapixel count of the A7RII's ;)
