The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

What's 500px?

I sometimes look at Ken Rockwell's site and my God... his saturation slider must be on speed.
https://500px.com/

Alternative to Flickr I joined after the yahoo take over but the only images that really get "appreciated" are very saturated or nudes

I forget which one on luminous landscape who has a rep for saturation I prefer the HSL sliders

Well as you guys all know I have been thinking about changing system.. But this afternoon I have decided to stick as I am and work on my photography and Processing. Just fed up of changing system and wasting money. Then next year ill upgrade the Sony Body to what ever comes out.

Here are 2 images I have done this afternoon

I think its probably for the best that you've stayed! And don't feel you "need" to instantly upgrade to another Sony body, theres clearly nothing wrong with your A7ii, nice photos!

Good decision really get a good grip on the Sony system :) :agree:

Nah get a X70

What colour are they? Do they do one in BRG?

The next Sony will deffo be available in BRG.

What a fabulous idea! They should kit it out with a special edition Rover K series processor as well, to ensure users are forced to upgrade when it blows up doing a panorama or something :D

Although that's not really the Fuji way ;)

The Rover K series was a very good engine and although slightly spoilt by cost cutting all of changes could be made good again. The famous blowing head gaskets and sometimes repeatedly doing so was often down to poor maintenance and once they got a name for it there was a danger that any dodgy mechanics first response would become "head gasket." I only had one K series engine car myself, a Lotus Elise, but my mam had plenty and so did an ex of mine and none ever had any engine issues but they were well maintained. My mam's Rover 100 once had a slight oil leak after a service and when she took it back they predictably said it was the head gasket and quoted into the hundreds but smart arse me spotted they'd removed and not replaced the gasket where the filter met the engine, must have cost me all of 20p to fix that fault. Dunno if they were devious mechanics and did that deliberately or if they were just crap mechanics. I'm certain misdiagnosis and missing the causes of gasket failure lead to many gaskets being needlessly or repeatedly changed at great cost to customers. The VVC variant was especially clever. Honda got around to a similar system later.

Sorry, was I meant to be talking about cameras? Fuji is it?

You could always be a rebel and talk about Sony mirrorless camera, possibly even the a7x series.

Very eloquent Alan I agree with some of your analysis though I think the manufacturer had some responsibility for ensuring the dealer network serviced the car the engine was fitted to correctly.

Now getting back to Fuji XL5 model :D :D

I had a properly serviced 1996 Rover 214si and the gasket still blew. Fixed that, then the gearbox seized lol Brilliant car to drive, but terribly put together. Everything squeaked including the seats :D

Hmmm. Who properly serviced it?

And this is not just a Rover issue. My sis has a V'hall people carrier of some description and after she had a new battery fitted it developed fault in that the power steering would go heavy and the warning light would come on. A specialist diagnostic team declared that it needed either a new wiring loom or a new gear box both at eye watering cost... only further investigation would determine which. Actually what it needed was the battery "calibrating" to the computer so that the drop in voltage when the old battery failed would be forgotten. Cost £0. I spoke to a friendly mechanic about this and he confirmed a mini epidemic of this. God knows how many people are paying for new wiring looms and / or gear boxes on these cars.
