Is there any great advantage for the Fuji 23mm f1.4 over an A7 with the 35mm f2.8?
To be honest although I complain about the 35mm f2.8 not being f1.8for me the A7 with 35mm f2.8 and 55mm f1.8 makes a very attractive little kit and there's nothing on the market at the moment that could tempt me away for the mix of quality and compact size and weight, except maybe a MKII or the fixed lens 35mm RX thingy. I forget the model number.
@woof woof An x100t would do you right.
I've had the zeiss 35mm 2.8 and it's great. But I see it more as a carry about/travel lens. And the price of it I can't justify for that purpose.
@Rizvan yes one system would make sense. But I don't always do sensible things! I do some paid work at weekends, weddings and family portraits. My initial concern with Fuji was can this perform to a high level. Is 16mp enough? So I went out with my a7rii and xt1 and switched cameras on a number of shoots. Both systems had pros and cons. The bottom line was on average how did the images stack up? If I didn't crop and didn't pixel peep I could not tell the difference (apart from colour) from the 2. My wife couldn't tell, my clients couldn't tell. That was a big win for Fuji imo.
Now the 24mp xt2 is out im very happy. 24mp is the magic number. Top quality and manageable files. The camera itself is the best I've ever used. So if I had to chose between the two systems I'd go xt2. But I'd rather not leave Sony behind completely. One body and a couple of special lenses should do me fine, while keeping my Fuji gear.
