Just need a dry evening now so i can take it out.

Does the A7ii have eye detect as I don't recall seeing it. Saw it on a video for a a7r2

You mean eye AF, mine has it so im guessing all the A7's have it. Even my Rx100 does it.

The a7ii yes not the rii was meant get that yesterday deal fell through.

Like I said I didn't notice it having it

Pretty sure (without checking my camera) that the A7ii has eye focus, but it's not continuous like the A7rii.

So it will eye focus on an eye, but not track the eye of a moving subject (I think, sure someone that uses this feature will confirm)

Thats correct afaik.

This is correct, A7II will only do Eye-AF on AF-S mode, the A7RII can track with Eye-AF (AF-C).
It's magic and I would want a camera without it.

On the subject of focus, does anyone else leave their camera in manual focus here?

I love that (in manual) as soon as the focus ring is touched it auto zooms in to focus, makes it so easy to nail every time.

I have mine set up so the focus on the shutter button is disabled - if I touch the central 'enter' button on the back of my A7R2 will auto focus but as soon as you touch the lens focus ring it turns immediately to manual focus and auto expands the point of ficus to help avid e spot on focusing - it's a truly brilliant system ( for me). It's like having the best of auto focus and manual focus combined.

I have mine set exactly the same :)

I might try setting mine like that at the minute i have the little selector on the back in its top position switches between manual and auto, then in the bottom position focuses.

Which 7 has he got to take some stunning images with I recall it the beast

Damian Hurst is more than a little different chatting to several ilfracombe residents they find this an affront
I will say this I visited in April after a gap of about 46 years most of the time I was escaping snow showers lol. I had about two hours in Ilfracombe and came across this sculpture I confess I was a bit shocked it reminded me of alien vs predators movies and is not in truth my cup of tea just wish I had better light though this year light is a plague :)

im in lima now in peru and it seems a bit meh so far and not even a lot of tourists around here.

they appears to be quite a few dodgy areas that we have been warned not to go and pretty much everyone here doesnt speak english so a lot of google translating and a bit of spanish speaking from my gf is helping us a tiny bit.

the food bit is harder, there is no english menus and most of the stuff dont come up in google translate... i really dont want to stick with mcdonalds every day!!

i'll be off to cusco tomorrow. high altitude so hope i feel ok

From my travels the advice I'd give is listen to the advice you're given on security but always get another opinion on food.

Will look forward to seeing some pictures :D

FURGH

Still on the lookout for a 35 2.8. Keep a lookout for a brother, peeps :)

Just out of interest I had a look around the usual used sellers and didn't spot any, I assume those that have them are hanging on to them.

On the subject of the 35mm f2.8...

I saw that one but thought it wasn't a good enough price.
