Yes, they should have released the A6100 before the end of 2015. I wonder what sales are like globally as mirrorless has really made big ground in Europe & the US. :)

AFAIK that's the biggest market for small cameras. But yeah, worldwide sales would be interesting.

A questions for your guys that do Landscapes

Do any of you use any kind of Filters such as Lee Filter? Ive a Dslr kit and I am thinking of selling it as hardly use it and to be honest i think it too big for the A7??

Cheers

I have Cokin filters and holders but I hardly ever use them. I've been thinking of using them more but so far I haven't. I have a few screw on ND's that I use with MFT.

Oh, and just in case that young turk who said that A7's need the battery changing after every shot comes back... I thought I'd taken 80-100 shots the other day and that the battery was on 60% when all was finished but when I checked I'd taken 138 shots and had something more like 65% battery life left :D

So what's that, like 400 on a full charge. I know I usually get around 350 on a full charge with AF lenses and I said I would've thought up to 400-450 is possible. So couldnt have been me ;)

Guys any of you use Nik FX or HDR pro was just thinking of buying one p, I do have PS and LR but don't these two do some nice effects etc....

Yes I have the Nik complete suite and it very good I like it indeed. Colour Effect pro is good never tried HDR as that not my cuppa tea

Ok talk me through HDR, the camera can do it on its own correct taking 3 shots, but I've also got bracketing, what methods best. Do i bracket the post process is that best way. ? what levels do you all use

Taking 3 (or more shots) is the same as bracketing. The camera just automates the process generally by adjusting the shutter speed to end up with 3 separate exposures. One underexposed by whatever amount you set, one overexposed by the same amount and one in the middle. You can then either use a tool like Photomatix to blend all three by taking the shadows from the overexposed shot, the highlights from the underexposed and the mid-range from the other shot or you can do it yourself with 3 layers in Photoshop.

You can shoot a single RAW file and then create two additional files off that with one under and one over exposed too. With the dynamic range of most sensors that's possible with a 1-2 stop adjustment but I've personally always taken 3 shots in camera. Personally I wouldn't go more than 1 stop different otherwise you will start getting unnatural results like those that randomly get a lot of 'nice shot' comments on Flickr :0)

cool, ill try both Bracketing then and some HDR.. see which I prefer

They're the same thing :0) Bracketing is what you do to get the source images and High Dynamic Range is what you get when you merge those images.

When taking images in A mode is there a way to alter the minimum shutter speed when in auto ISO pls?

Yup. Switch to manual :D

Sorry... :D

When the light levels fall and the camera sticks to 1/60 or something like that I just switch to manual and dial in the aperture I want and something like 1/100 to 1/125 and let the ISO float.

Im not sure if the new FW supports it but the old version didnt. The A7rii does afaik. Annoying isnt it! Workaround is to flick to manual mode (as Alan suggested while I was typing)

I guess you have your ISO max out in auto?

Nope not annoying as I did do it in M mode in the end was just wondering. Loving the camera by the way. It seem to of clicked onto me more than d750 so I guess that the main thing.

Im glad they fixed it with the A7rii. Yeah, that is the main thing.

Might of with the A7ii?? I reckon by summer time I get a A7rii

I let it go to the max if I want the shot :D but light levels have to be very low indeed or you need a combination of relatively small aperture and low light to hit the max.
