Are the sony lens of good glasses?

The Kit lens that comes with the A7ii some say it better than the 24-70 and some says it isn't...
and the lovely 55mm 1.8 in which I believe is a good lens according to owen :)

No way is it better, its good enough. Not terrible at all for a kit lens. I have the 55, its lovely and imo the ideal lens for the a7. But expensive for a 50 1.8. My sigma 50 art has the edge.
 
You say it good enough so it be a good cheaper walk about lens... to couple with a 55mm what other prime? To be honest those prob the only 2 lens I want

Yeah. Its alright. Its a kit lens. I dont get excited by them.

Depends if you shoot wide or long. Fe lenses are few and cost a lot, so be prepared.
 
Though it E Mount so E lens or is E and FE the same for this camera?

Have to attend a 1 year olds birthday party tomorrow and have been asked by the mum to do some photos. It's inside, so probably high iso stuff..

My kind of stuff. 1 yr olds are easy, dont move much, smile, sit up straight, toddlers are another story! Have a good shoot mate. (y)

Agreed. @rookies enjoy your d750. I don't have one, but by all accounts it's the perfect all rounder. With your 50mm on it it's not much heavier than the a7ii with the 55 1.8.
Perhaps get a black rapid strap? I used one with a d810 and Tamron 150-600 which is a monster combo. The strap really made lugging it around easier.
Perhaps look for a 2nd hand a7. Not too expensive and it'll give you a good idea if the system is for you or not.

Which a7 you got?

I feel a A7 with it size and a few things maybe good I am going have a good sleep on this.

The IBIS is what I like as it be use with any lens. With Nikon you git buy lens with VR on and am I right VR is not 5 way like ibis?
 
55 1.8 is a cracking lens fair play perfect for low light portraits............ I'm loving me Samyang though lol

I have a7 and a7rii. Previously had a7ii but feel the a7 is good enough to back up the r2.
Only recently bought the a7 again after having one for a few months last year.

These days many modern lenses will have vr or such like.
Get the idea of a kit lens out of your head. All these cameras that have been mentioned deserve better.

Great combo. Would've been better with the 50 art but we can't always have everything. Sounds like you have a nice setup overall. I checked my lightroom cat and I've used over 30 different cameras in the past 3-4 years :eek: DAMN. And that doesn't include multiples of the same.

Well I know I would get the 55mm one day. But I like a walk about lens so rather have the kit lens and make that saving to go toward the 55 mm

If it were me on a tight budget I'd rather the 28 2 and 55 1.8.
 
fair comment @rookies can understand that mate what I think the general consensus of what everyone saying is glass makes a big difference mate especially with low apertures ;-)
 
Could always get the 28 too keep eyes out 2nd hand for the lens??

I took the a7 and 55 to Amsterdam last year. Great combo to walk around with.

That's one thing id really like is Sigma to get there art lenses for the Sony A7 series asap, decent quality, reasonable priced 3rd party lenses that autofocus :D
 
Don't sigma do lens for the A7 yet?
