The dpreview test scene makes all things equal at the same exposure. It's a lab test. So if one camera is better than the other then its better. All things equal and all that.
 
With this A7II if i had it on tripod to do landscape does the live screen shows exactly what you going to take ie it dims or brighten as we expose??
 
I read somewhere that the A7 having filters so don't need to use proper filter on the lens not that i would use it but is it true>

Yes. But so does your d750. You need to turn it on.

I know it got live view but the screen doesn't alter for brighteness or anything when i change settings
 
it does you need to go into the settings and turn the live exposure on mate.........................

Not made it any easier LOL... I think the main thing that draws me to the A7ii is

Smaller and Lighter
IBIS so it be on for any lens it got..
To me better colour render this not to everyone taste..
Live view is faster with Focus so mrs can take photos with it rather than using eye as she hates that.
Video be better as faster AF on it...

Think those are the main things OH sometime i have missed the FAST shutter speed of up to 8000 on very bright days when i am using aperture around 2.8 as that when i get a lens for it for DOF again this not always everyone liking
 
Also maybe the Phrase AF if it as good as the video shows on some sites
 
yeah I would have a play with your new found live exposure on the d750 for a while mate .............. a7ii will be a learning curve

Tell your missus if she wants faster live view to get herself a camera or let you have two ;)

Video AF still won't be good enough, for that you want an a5100/a6000, in terms of AF for stills and video it smokes the a7 cameras and its much cheaper. Perhaps this is something to think about, its not expensive either, I've owned it and its very impressive. The only reason I own the a7 over it is because I shoot the shallowest dof and it doesn't seem you do.

Get a 3 stop ND.
 
yep never had an issue with the focusing mate myself a dslr is quicker I have a 5d3 its 90% as quick as that I would say I own a lot of canon glass and the a7rii also they are awesome cameras and I love the sonys now ...

Nope all i have got at the moment is the 50mm 1.8 lovely lens... The 105mm macro again nice lens but heavy lol... Not got the 24-70 that would of been my lens if I kept the D750....

If I go sony it be

Sony A7II with Kit lens
Sony 55mm what aperture is that??

You could go a6000 and 35 1.8 oss and 50 1.8 oss for 650 used mint. That's equiv to a 50 and 75 on your d750. And a 16-50 kit lens for like 65 quid more. See the value? All 3 lenses have stabilisation. Perhaps you could then also keep the d750.

The a7 kit with 55 will set you back 1750 best case. That 1k saving is your d750 and 50g!!

if you keep the d750 and have a6000 alongside it awesome combo wouldn't personally trade a d750 in for a6000 but its your choice

I think you may have misunderstood, for the price of the a7ii kit and Zeiss he could have the d750 and a6000 kit I mentioned.
 
D750 and 50g he could get just over 1k. A6000 plus 3 lenses is 720 tops.

A7ii kit plus Zeiss is 1750.

That's not calculating his approx 600 quid loss on his d750.

in all seriousness if it was me I would go for your option of a600 and d750 if you have to have just 1 cam I would stick witht he d750 just me though ( I'm a canon and sony man but cant see the point in losing money when all you gain is less weight)
