An A7 ?Guess what I just received.
Guess what I just received.
I think I just heard some shutter noise in the distance. It's an a7
If it was an A7r you would be feeling the shockwaves!I waas wondering how many people have bought the LA-EA4 adapter and if you have bought it where do you get your sony/minolta lenses from as I am finding it quite hard to find what I am looking for, managed to get a Tokin 20-35, Sigma 105 OS and a 50mm 1.7 and have been looking for a cheap walkaround lens for a while now but it is jusst hard looks almmost like nobody has been shooting with minolta or sony glass
I had a look at Canon metabones seem expensive and the reports on AF are poor though I was looking at EF not FDThe option had crossed my mind, but thought there might be more available options by getting the metabones canon adapter.
I have a Canon adapter also, I couldn't stand the slowness so I bought the Sony one and I haven't regret that decision even for a second it is so much faster, but good god finding the lenses for a good price is hard. How is your Canon adapter in terms of focusing does it hunt a lot and does it take like 2-3 sec to focusThe option had crossed my mind, but thought there might be more available options by getting the metabones canon adapter.
I had an LA-EA4 for a while and mostly used it with the 135mm f1.8 lens. As much as I fell in love with the lens, the LA-EA4 was so frustrating to use I ended up getting rid of both. When you're used to a modern mirrorless camera and the autofocus flexibility it allows, being warped back in time to DSLR-land and having to use a tiny diamond cluster of AF points in the centre of the frame is a horrible experience.I waas wondering how many people have bought the LA-EA4 adapter and if you have bought it where do you get your sony/minolta lenses from

If you're going to be adapting A mount lenses, I'd stick to lenses compatible with the LA-EA3 so you don't get stuck with an antiquated DSLR-like autofocus system.
Except for the focus points I am quite happy with the AF speed, with the 105mm OS it is working great not as fast as when I had one with my Canon 5d mk2 but the difference is no more than 20-30% in favour of the DSLR which is in no way as bad as the Canon adapterI had an LA-EA4 for a while and mostly used it with the 135mm f1.8 lens. I still miss some of the DSLRs I've had through the years, but the thing that still makes me keep the A7 is the portability and the tilt screen. I like carrying it on my neck for good 12-14 hrs when I am on holidays and doing this with DSLR is tough.Your DSLR mustve had very few points because the LAEA4 is nowhere near a decent DSLR and those antiquated DSLRS still have better AF than your A7.

An a7r2?Guess what I just received.
Do we have to do the A7 v DSLR thing to death ever few pages?
Focus? Lenses? Expensive gear? batteries? EVF v OVF?
Maybe instead of going through this time and time again those interested in dragging it all up can just post "Pros and Cons Debate" and just leave it there.
We all have brains in our heads and can weigh the pro's and cons so lets just assume we know them and move on shall we?
I have the Zeiss 24-70mm f4 and find the results really acceptable and as bad a some make out, check out my Flickr photos from the train museum. There are also some high ISO images in there.

Crikey, that'll give you a lot of slightly different lossy compressed raw formats to catalogue![]()
Suppose they'll go along nicely with my smeared/painterly fuji files.![]()
Do you have any dynamic rangeless .cr2 files to throw in the mix too? Can't think of any Nikon insults
