The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

My Novoflex MD adapter has arrived and all my Rokkor lenses fit and work including my 24mm f2.8 and this time without the severe vignetting I got with the (APS-C) cheap Chinese adapter.

I also received a 32gb card giving an indicated capacity of 1,248 raws which should be enough for a holiday without having to bother changing cards.

The 24mm looks great on the camera and gives a nice and compact package and it has quite a close focus distance, which at 24mm may be fun :D

So far I've only used my 28 and 50mm Zuiko's and my MD fit 50mm Sigma macro but I am especially looking forward to using the Rokkor 24mm, 35mm f1.8, 50mm f1.4 and 85mm f2. Thankfully I have a free day on Wednesday on which it'll no doubt rain from a flat grey sky. What I really need is a trip to central or south east Asia :D

Started a new high profile job 2 weeks ago so not much leisure time at the moment but thought I would post this one. Yes there are noisy bits and some roughness but I have never taken a good photo of this place at this time in the morning before that was usable. No filters used, the DR is very impressive.

My LM £20 adapter arrived, its crap. Lens is loose, makes focusing annoying. Going to order something decent.

Good luck choosing...

The reason I went for Novoflex adapters is that choice seems limited to just a few named brands and the various cheaper ebay options and it's so hard to judge / guess what quality you're going to receive. I guess I must have been reasonably lucky with the cheap Chinese adapters and the only real problem I've encountered was the vignetting with my 24mm.

Gotta say I have no complaints with the Novoflex except the price :D

Beautifully done :)

I desperately want the Zeiss 35mm 2.8 but it seems to be out of stock in all places which aren't overpriced... :(

Digital Rev says they have them to order, might be worth asking them if they have any left.
I am really glad i got one, i'm shocked at the quality it puts out for a neat little lens.

I sold mine. Its a good lens, just dont get on with 35mm. Would highly recommend if you get on with the FL.

Why on earth does Sony show the annoying message every time I hit the movie button (which is a lot)? I've turned the button off so why not just ignore it?

What message? all I've ever got off it is an annoying sound effect.

Doesnt it go away after you connect it to your computer or something.

Just a small annoyance... all my hoods vignette at wider than 35mm so I can't use them with my 24 or 28mm's.

This one. It only goes away if I press the button again or touch the shutter button. I've worked out that it is part of my strap that falls exactly on the button. I might have too change strap or pay a bit more attention.

WTF is that? Movies not available in movie mode, only available in movie mode?

Exactly!!! I kept starting movies by accident so I disabled the movie button in the customisation menu. It now only starts/stops filming when the mode dial is turned to movies. Great, I think except now, every time I accidentally press it, I get the stupid message. Ridiculous.

Ahh, so it's telling you you have to turn it to movie mode on the dial, or trying to and failing. I can't see how you're hitting the movie button by accident though, I can't even do it on purpose!

I'm finding the ergonomics in general horrible but the movie button is placed exactly where the thick leather part of my Streetstrap touches when I'm holding the camera. Very inconsiderate of the Sony designers. I'm going to have to get a new strap.

The movie button is in the perfect location if you ask me, much better than the previous location.

Edit: Looks like Sayang have released there lenses for the A7.

Im interested in the Samyang 14mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC.

I'd still rather buy any other mount and use with an adapter myself, much more resale potential in the future

My cheapo OM adapter has arrived so expect some pics from my 21 f3.5 any time soon.

I used my Zuiko 28mm f2.8. It was a poor day to take pictures but I did.

Boats and seawead.

Picked up my A7, lovely bit of kit. EVF is better than I expected, this is coming from an E-M5.
Already have Voigtlander 15mm, 40mm and 50mm with metabones adaptor. 40 and 50 are very good (40 is so small!) but as expected the 15 does have some colour cast and smuding in the corners, will be looking for an aternative. Here's a quick one taken from the top of the Shard with the 40 at f2, had to bump the ISO up as I didn't have a tripod.

Anyone can recommend a flash for A7

I'll be interested too.

This is a 100% crop, Zuiko 28mm, shot using peaking and it looks lovely and sharp on my screen.

I'm with you on the AF but it's unlikely to be Zeiss quality, and we'll all be old when it gets here.

It definitely is of a high quality. I absolutely love mine.
