A7iii or A7Rii?
Moving to Sony, I can probably manage to go for either of the above. Mainly for family shots, portraits and travel. Which would you recommend?
Easy. A7iii

marseille-f1-2019-pt1-a7r3-253.jpg by Jon Richy, on FlickrAnother vote for the Sony A7 III.
I have one along side my Sony A9.
Pound for pound, the Sony A7 III is unbeatable compared to what’s out on the market.
Your gear getting out of cabinet much lately mate?

RII was pretty slow but Riii supports UHSII cards with which it's fast with single shots and low bursts. Haven't tried fast bursts yet...iii
If the Rii is like the Riii it’s a little frustrating when reviewing etc too.
It has decent buffer for fast burst mode. Slightly more than the Canon 5d4.RII was pretty slow but Riii supports UHSII cards with which it's fast with single shots and low bursts. Haven't tried fast bursts yet...
It has a fair bit more than 5D4 because A7RIII is holding 42mp files vs. 30mp files. It has decent buffer for fast burst mode. Slightly more than the Canon 5d4.
Once it fills it takes ages to clear

Haven't used in wedding scenario but have used it in other places. It's a nice feature if you are certain you always want a certain person (eg. Bride, bridegroom) over others in focus. It could also work against you in that if you don't want a registered person in focus but someone else and the camera will try to fight you lol (of course there are ways around it by moving you focus point etc for the odd different picture)Face registration, do any of the wedding photographers here use it and how does it work, is it worth bothering with?
Thanks
sigma art by Jonathan Howes, on FlickrLooks like the a7iii wins out against the A7Rii. Just need to get the d750 and lenses sold to finance it now.
Probably going to try and pick up a 35mm F2.8 and 55mm F1.8 as the lens combo. Both fairly pricey mind!
didn't get much enjoyment from shooting with the a7r2/sigma combo, but liking what they can do together.
The Samyang 35 definitely looks a worthy contendor to the sony. Then buy the fe50 and samyang 35

new 24mm f2.8 gets good reviews too. £279
The rumor site says that an A6700 is coming later this year but there are no specs yet, so they're speculating

I wonder if Sony would consider an SLR style APS-C CSC? Some prefer the mini SLR style to RF style.
...18-50mm f2.8.
where did you order from?24mm Samyang on it's way
