The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

Check Raymond response on the benefits of the mk3.it ain't all about end result but how you get to the end result
Correct, you can easily take good quality photos with most modern day DSLR / mirrorless bodies, its how you get the end result which is now a big factor.
Eye-AF takes away some of the stress / pressures involved in event / people photography :)

Ok, but I’m not talking about eye AF!!

Well a EVF gives you accurate depth of field and exposure output, means less or no need for chimping..... hence saving time? :D
Does this take EVF to a new level compared to the A6300. I remember being able to see my photo's exposure but not the depth of field on the a6300

Still have to adjust settings that may take longer as Sony doesn’t have as many knobs and buttons lol

Is it still clear and precise in really low light? Never got to try it in such a situation.

Have a look at the video posted a few pages back, the Wedding VLOG 2 video. ;)

Surprised it struggled especially given it had a snowy background.
I assume both the Sony A9 and lens were running the latest firmware versions, was it the FE 70-200mm f2.8 GM?
I think its good hes sent it back for a checkup but this is the first report of a potentially faulty Sony A9 on here :D (not that we have many A9 owners, lol).
That's incorrect. Mine was faulty.

In fact that morning before I went out the AF wouldn't work either. Had to reset the camera and re mount the lens
What lens were you using? :)

Cheers Spec guru.

Basically a7iii same as r2. Which is fine. Just didn’t want to take a backwards step.

Yup it's the same as the A7R II which is great, ooooo I sense a Sony GAS attacking incoming..... that G Master feeling lonely is it? :D

Still not getting you? I put camera in correct mode, choose settings and shoot away? How much more simple can it be using the Sony to get the same results?
Please read Raymond Post. And if you believe everything is fine and dandy then stop lushing over the Sony and stick with your current gear and enjoy.

Does this take EVF to a new level compared to the A6300. I remember being able to see my photo's exposure but not the depth of field on the a6300

You should be able to see the DoF but you need to set the option in the menu, constant preview... or something.

And on another note...

Some of you need to take a look at yourselves, IMO.

Having a laugh is great (essential maybe) but having a laugh at someone else expense to the point that you upset them isn't really... cricket.

Ahead of woof?

If you can find an example of me being seriously (rather than in fun) bias post it here.

I really couldn't give a flying who makes what... Canon, Nikon, Sony... I don't care.

I like compact kit but other than that I've owned Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Sony... Kodak :D

If you want an example of bias or fanboyism look elsewhere.

:D
