It also offers more options for internal cooling, and with high frame rates and ever increasing MP images, the heat generated is becoming significant
The Sony A1, A9II seems adequately cooled tbh. R3 seems to an A9II competitor based on rumours i.e. it's a lower MP body.
I really don't see this as a problem. As some teardown reviewers put it the cooling seems to be an afterthought in canon R5 unlike in A7siii or A7RIV.
Sony went through the same heating problems phase in their first couple generations. So i feel canon is going through the same journey. But artificially bloating the body is not the solution IMO.
