im not sure suzie perry is the right choice (however out of all the iritating poeple on the gadget show shes the most paletable as a presenter) however im a sky watcher mainly because i cant stand david coulthards excessive use and awful pronunciation of the word "gonna"

however suzie perry yes yes i would!

As I said, it seems to be all about the delivery and less about gritty racing

Is max chilton a relation to tom chilton by any chance?

Max being the younger one.

Ahhhh interesting. Bet toms a bit gutted then.....

Not sure what Tom's plans are for 2013 now but the plug has been pulled on Arena Motorsport International so no WTCC or anything else at the moment for Tom. At the moment all the Chilton money is being invested in single seaters.

I did post a separate thread but just saw this so will be more appropriate.

Hi, just a question r.e the SILVERSTONE F1 2013, I bought tickets for the weekend + camping after the 2012 race but cannot go as a few days after I bought them the wife found out she was pregnant. I can't get a refund so wondering how they sell on say eBay/here etc. anyone bought used tickets? It's 2 tickets row A at Club corner, 3 day passes.

Anyone planning to attend a race this year? I've put the time off up on the board at work and am going to book myself a holiday touring Italy which will naturally include attending the GP at Monza (and hopefully trips to the museums at Maranello and Arese, if I can organise myself sufficiently).

You will probably make a small profit on Ebay. They always seem to sell well just before the event. Especially if a Brit is at the sharp-end. Don't list them until the beginning of June.
I'll not be bidding. I've got mine reserved.

Looking at heading to Belgium for the race at Spa. But a trip like that sounds like a good idea, Italy should be a great place to wander about.

Also being a Hamilton fan :shake: I am very much looking forward to seeing how he gets on, more so next year as the engine changes happen :)

It looks like there will be only 19 races this year
Bet I can guess who will show 9

Eddie J is breaking news again
Brawn and Fry to either leave or be demoted at Merc
There positions to be taken (or positions made) by Wolff from williams and Lowe from Maclaren
If at all true it bodes well for Hammy ???

I see Irish racing driver Tim O'Glock has been shafted by Marussia.

They parted by mutual consent the fact a Russian pay driver is in the frame has nowt to do with it

We are still waiting to see who is de restas team mate or whether he has a team

Pirelli to make their tyres even worse for next season

Formula 1 supplier Pirelli says changes to its tyres this year will mean more exciting races with more pit stops.
It has changed both the construction and rubber compounds of the tyres in an attempt to ensure they degrade faster.
Pirelli says this will mean at least two pit stops per race and "increasing overtaking opportunities and so helping provide an even better show".

Why not make the drivers wear clown shoes while they're at it? I want to see cars racing, not being serviced ans certainly not being driven to compensate for deliberately poor components.

The start of last season was really good, with all the teams struggling to figure out how to get the best out of the tyres and really varied results. Then the teams worked it out and it all got a bit dull. Hopefully this will spice things up a bit.

I don't think a total of eight or even twelve seconds stationary in the pits for two or three tyre changes is too much servicing in a race of up to two hours though. Mind you I watch endurance racing and NASCAR where much longer is spent in the pits.

Out of interest chaps.... do you follow drivers or like me always had a fave team. drivers are fine but I've always been a team fan?

Ive been following lewis and mclarren for the past few years and jenson joining the team made it even (even though the team really struggled having 2 number one drivers) better but now I'm not sure i'll follow either so closely after the move.

I always feel that I am sort of a williams fan but I cant stand maldonado. But im still pleased for the team when they get a good result. Other than that it has to be mclaren, dont know why im guessing because of the britishness and the history and that sexy orange colour they used to use.

I'm another who isn't a fan in the strict sense of the word although I do follow the circus quite closely. Due to illness, I missed most of last season's races - concentration for much more than 10 minutes simply wasn't an option! I did get to enjoy the last few races though.

Ferrari's win at any cost attitude along with their conviction that they're extra special and vital to the series haven't endeared them to me ever, nor has their #1 driver's cheating in the past and more recent treatment of his teammate (I know it's a team sport but don't have to like that aspect of it!) I do follow the British teams and drivers more closely than the foreign teams, probably because I'm British.

Favourite livery of all time was the black JPS lotus, although I hate the idea of tobacco advertising. Not too keen on alcohol being advertised on the cars and podia either - drinking and driving shouldn't be associated with each other IMO. (I loved the look on Kimi's face as he glugged the fizzy cordial!)

51 1/2 days to go until the lights go out in Australia...

Yep, I'm a Williams fan (so much so I bought a Clio Williams when they came out, had it for years, best car I ever had!) and I was ecstatic when they won last year!

Other than that I hold a candle for the bulldog racers, like Mansell, and latterly the likes of Button and Kobyashi (sp ?).

I always used to follow Senna. Even when he raced Mansell I wanted Senna to win, he was something else.

Mansell was awesome. Outside of the car a know, but in it he was awesome to watch. Especially when started from a low grid position.

I met Mansell several times when he drove a Mondeo in the 98 BTCC season, really nice, friendly bloke and plenty of time for his fans.
